The Creative Explorer Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 (edited) A new project, meant to be a quickbuild. I lost motivation for the Ferrari, Deuce and the 3 Christine's. Mostly because of the poor result of my GTO. This build will be mostly because to find out what has caused the bad paint result of the GTO. Therefore I will use the same paints once again and see if I can locate and terminate the problem. This model is from the Czech manufacturer Smer, and is 1/28 and really simple (snapper). So I do not have to worry about detail in transmission and engine, just a nice paint-job and some modifications in the interior. Edited November 3, 2008 by Steef Hartither
Nick F40 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 NOOOOOOOO RED X! I do love Skodas and how did you lose motivation on a Ferrari???
The Creative Explorer Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 Nick; So weird, I have more problems with this site and pictures lately. However the pictures work on basically every PHPBB2 forum, they seem not to work on this forum Well, It isn't the Ferrari, but the problem with the GTO that holds me back a little. However, I will continue with the Ferrari as of this week, so we'll see how things work out. DIY?: Geen idee, maar acht ik zeer klein Toch heb ik wel 1:43 resin E-Kadettjes gezien van een Duitse firma. Well, Some more pictures; Hope they work!
Zoom Zoom Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 That looks neat; I have one of those kits somewhere that I simply built w/o painting; my memory seems to think it wasn't quite as small as 1/28 but then again we don't get that car here in the states.
Nick F40 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 are you two speaking Dutch? Ahhh I see now! They are working good. I like it, would make a sweet little racer, and I would love a Skoda, some little wicked rally car they are. Will definetly keep looking. I like your Ferrari though
The Creative Explorer Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Sorry Nick, yeah it was Dutch Well, the point of this car was to see if I am going coocoo, and guess what; I am! Since the paint is perfect on the Skoda, and I don't know why my GTO got so messed up DIY; hmm, it isn't a Fiat Panda, this car was actually a design done by Bertone, for Skoda's history quite modern. And that's why it doesn't look all that bad. Please use your real name in the sign, it makes communication more personal on the board and I believe mandatory by the board. Zoom-Zoom; I guess you are right, the car is too big to be 1/28. It looks a massive SUV if I held it near other 1/25/24 projects. But the overall dimensions seem to work though.

The Creative Explorer Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Yeah, It's just policy, and honestly I like it. It makes the board more personal that way. I found this quote; Welcome to Model Cars Magazine forums, the newest online forum about our favorite hobby. One of the very few rules we have here at MCM Online forum is that you must register to post messages. If you register using a "handle" or an "alias", you MUST place your REAL NAME (at least first and last name) in the "signature" below each message. The signature text block is found in your profile section of this board. If you chose not to display your real name in your signature, you will receive a warning which, if ignored, will result in removal of posting privileges. Sorry, but thems the rules.... er' rule. Whatever... Thank you! Don't get me wrong, I am not parenting, but I just like to call people by their name I am using a Anagram as a nick-name, but I use my real name in my siggy
Zoom Zoom Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 you mean in the sreen name ? but this one has survived 8 different boards i havent even had a mirage in over 4 years hows about i just make up a siggy ? Keep your screen name, but write your real name in your signature (go to "My Controls" link above to create/modify your signature in your personal profile). We all have been asked by Gregg to do this if our user name is not our real name. There are a lot of people here that have snuck under the radar, but it would be nice if you and everyone else w/o their name in the signature would add your name there. Makes for a more personable experience, this place is like family, for good and bad
Ken Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Is this the same car they lambast on 'Top Gear' all the time. This being the first one I have ever seen, I still don't get the hate... Yours looks really good. I too, think it looks a bit like a Fiat that my friend had in high school
The Creative Explorer Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 No, not really. Sure, they are not the best cars by far, but TopGear has the most hate with the old British Leyland cars, such as Austin. They were so incredibly bad, that doors came of at testdrives (not joking)
