In my long tradition of doing everything at least twice, I re-did the Clark logo on the station because it wasn't as bright as the SUPER 100. When I made the original logo, there were no plans to light the model. Here are pics with the new, improved logo...

That's spectacular, Tom.

I'm curious, what's the overall dimensions of that with the base?

Charlie Larkin

At the base of the walls, about 13" wide, 8.5" deep. At the roof, it's about 13.5" wide, and 10" deep. Pretty compact for a building.

Thanks. Right now I'm working on the restrooms. There's a lot of detail to be added to the back of the building, I'm looking forward to that part.

I finished the bathrooms for the most part (pics later). I decided to tackle the Clark sign. The gas prices are from the later half of 1977.

I couldn't figure out how to animate the chasing lights on the outer edge of the sign, but I lit everything else. These images are a bit overexposed, it's not this bright in person. In person, the signs are easily read. The traffic lights in the backround run through their sequence, but that's another story.

Can I suggest a control box from a chasing Christmas light set, may be LEDs inside?

I decided early on that every light I install must be accessible in case I need to replace it. (obviously the traffic lights and streetlights are not accessible). With this in mind, one side of the round portion of the sign screws on to the other like a jar lid. The area directly behind the "chasing" lights is occupied by the male and female threads of the screw-on part, so there is no room behind them to do anything. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Can any of you gas pump experts identify these pumps? The information will help my research. (pictures borrowed from earlier in thread.)

Those are from the 70's

I haven't posted to this thread for quite awhile, primarily because my uncontrollable drooling has shorted out my keyboard every time I've dropped in.

Stunningly ... accurate.

Keep it up!

i added the "bulbs" to the lights. This is the final effect. Not completely convincing, but not too bad.
