My life in general is an Eleanor moment... :(

Why does that sound so oddly familiar?

In model kit terms, it's currently any AMT 61-69 Lincoln sedan on Ebay. I'm looking for a restorable builder.
Either the seller won't post overseas, or postage is 53$ (btw, a realistic postage fee for one kit from the US to England is around 13$), or it's bid into nirvana by geeks who have more money than braincells.

Now, since I have all of you so nicely assembled here, does anyone out there want to part with one?

An Eleanor model? Well there is is one that I have built three times and each time it get's destroyed. It's a Fujimi 1973 Porsche Carrera RS Speedster. The first one i built was destroyed by a clumsy Cable Guy installing cable in my house and knocked over the shelf it was on. So I built a second one I had it in a display case on a table in my living room. It sat there just fine for six months until the sunlight came in the window at just the right angle to heat one side of the model just on the door, and melt it to the point where it looked like it had been T-boned. So I built a third one. and it got smashed in my move from Asheville NC to Kingsport TN. Here is what remains of the third "Doomed Porsche". I plan to build a forth, but with a few changes.

Just like from Gone In Sixity second's, when Nick Cage trys to steal Eleanor, something always goes wrong and thats his Eleanor,

actually, he calls 'eleanor' his unicorn, so you're looking for a unicorn.

i read the title, and my reaction was, "no, there's enough Eleanor models around..." .... and then i read the THREAD.... and the "unicorn" response. so, yep; i have a unicorn or two.... models that i built so poorly as a kid and then trashed... never to see another kit of. over the years, i've managed to bag a couple of them..... but a few still elude me. some were actually finished up rather nicely, and grew "old" on me, falling victim to ill-advised rebuilds which were anything but..... like a beauty of a JoHan Police Cruiser, done up to represent an Adam-12 unit when i was 16 or 17..... becoming who knows what after gracing a living room shelf for a year.

ahh.... unicorns. so delicious.

I could never get the Revell older drag cars with opening doors and tilt front ends to fit right. Glued up the doors more than once I must admit. Have not tried another in years.

Lindbergh's Dodge Charger Police Car.

Oh what a miserable excuse for a "new tooled" kit. I am currently 3/4 through my second attempt to build this misfit, and am pushing myself to finish. The first is 99% done, and sitting, waiting, until I get the inspiration to complete it. Where this inspiration will come from I haven't a clue.

Christian - I have the same problem. It's down to the sellers taking the easy option and just quoting the USPS price. Try contacting them and asking them if they are willing to use a cheaper & slower service without tracking (tracking is useless anyway after the shipment hits customs entering a new country).

'56 Ford doors. They work great during all the trial fittings - even after paint - but once into final assembly, they don't close properly. 3 attempts, still unsuccessful.
