I am new here but had a couple truck builds in the back of my head for some time now. I'm looking to take any pickup, lower it, motor swap it and just build a sweet street truck out of it. if you have already started one, feel free to join. As long as there not completed.. put a v8 in your ranger and lower it on 20s or drag slicks, build it how you would if you had the money. Anyone interested?

I'd join if you start. I have 15+ truck kits .To choose from and I just restarted work on a older project of a slammed 79 ram long bed.

I do have a '93 Ranger that 'needs' a V8, so I might be able to cook something up.

Awesome. I'm new to models, but am into cars in real life. Unfortunately don't got the money for them, while digging through my grandpas attic last week after him passing away and found some models he built and decided I'd take on the hobby and I'd love to start with this. Hopefully it doesn't end up to bad.

I'll be using a 1996 s10.

I'll probably use the '93 Ranger Splash (Flareside) kit, not sure about what engine to use at the moment. Probably a small block Ford from one of the Revell Deuce kits, or I might go nuts with a 385-series big block. I guess it depends on how far I want to go with chassis mods- that big block would require a bit of re-engineering to both ends of the chassis.

Sounds like an interesting build, but the only compact pickup kits I have (a pair of AMT GMC Sonomas) are committed for trade in the near future. I could see stuffing one of them full of Corvette power! I generally don't do much inb the way of trucks; I only have three of them that I've built on my shelf that I can think of.

Do they have to lowered or can you just do the motor swap.

I was just going to do it as what would you consider a muscle truck. If you want to just do a v8 swap, that works... i was just putting the lowering out there cause that's what I'd do if I was putting a high. Hp motor in a truck

Well, might be a slight change of plans. Picked up this '79 Toyota yesterday for the princely sum of three bucks, so I might need to do something with it. B)

Might still use the Ranger for this one though- the 'Yota will probably end up more 'mini' than 'muscle'. B)

If this is a go you can count me in. I have several truck kits waiting to get on the desk. Maybe a classic with all new mechanicals and lots of patina.
