This kit is a great source of gasser parts, IMHO....I have trashed several previous versions for the parts, and plan to pick up the current issue, and actually build a Bad Man this time around....

Maybe, I say maybe. When they come out ( not yet, right ? ) we should all get one and build them up and see what we all come up with ?????

The re-issued Badman kit is out already as I picked up mine last Saturday at my LHS.

well its has te wrong valve cover for a 396CID engine? Dislike the exhaust system molded into the chassis.

It's the whole wrong engine. And yet is has the molded exhaust left over form the original kit, but it's nothing a dedicated builder cant overcome.

Heay, I thought you'd like it (every body). All I really have to say is- Ya'll know it's the same ole kit . The only thing new about this kit is the price!
I want every one to get the new kit and build hell out of it ! ya'll have tooooo much talent to make inferior art work out of this poo-poo...

HAD IT AS A KID, NOW AT 55, I HAVE IT BACK IN MY TOM DANIELS COLLECTION. GRANTED, IT'S NOT THE MOST DETAILED KIT BUT IT IS COOL.
NOW, IF THE GUYS AT REVELL KEEP RELEASING THE TOM DANIELS CARS MAYBE ONE DAY WE COULD SEE A RERELEASE OF THE SAND CRAB.

Not really. It's supposed to represent a small block bored & stroked to 396 ci. Considering Chevy had a 400 ci. small block from the factory it's not unrealistic, although those had a specific engine block. The crankshaft from 400 ci. engines are used to produce the very common 383 ci. stroker engines.

Well it is a no brainer, it is an easy but really fun kit to build. I built one a while back, added some detail got a little creative, and had a blast with it. I will build another......cause just fun to build!

Not at all. There's no way a 283 (the actual engine in the kit) can be stroked out to 396 cubic inches. I've heard that story for years. I just wonder who made it up?

I had read somewhere (maybe in the SA Tom Daniel-themed issue a few years ago?) that Tom designed the decals, without regard for which engine was actually included with the kit. As has been stated a few times, Tom's designs were never intended to be accurate replicas, so him taking creative license with the engine's displacement on the decals should surprise nobody.

It's a "for fun" kit, nothing more...unless you want to make it more than that. ;)

A little over twelve days later and this is what I came up with using this old kit. 100% accurate? No. 100% fun? You better believe it!

Who cares if it is accurate or not. It is fun to build and a great slump buster, even straight out of the box! I remember building a total glue bomb when I was a kid and I was very glad the last time it got re-issued that I could finally build it a bit better. So have fun!
