Myself, I'd kinda like it if the Drop top Chevy was released with BOTH the "fuelie" V-8, & a plain Jane 235 six, now THAT would be different!

Could you even get a 6 in the Bel air? Only ever seen them with 8's. I'm happy it isn't the fuelie engine as that has been kitted before and is pretty rare. The single/ dual 4 bbl setup is a far better representation of the majority of these cars

Yup any engine was available with any model, a 150 could have a fulie, and bel airs had 6cyl. The vin does not specify the engine it came with, so restorers often put v8s in cars that originally had 6s.

I think that the set-up for twin 4bbl's. Be great if they release it with this set-up. Can't recall if this set-up has ever been done before in a plastic kit.

Hears hoping this is how they'll release it.

It was done in the AMT upgrade 57 Chevy. It is a dual oil bath batwing air cleaner.

Actually, the VIN does identify V8 cars. The number will start with a "V" on V8 cars.
Here's the Factory ID guide showing how the read the VIN (originally calles Serial Number)

It was in the 1/24 Monogram '56 Chevy at one point, too...I think the molded in turquoise issue? Not sure how well that triangular air cleaner (if that's the same one?) would translate to 1/25 scale, though.

I'll take a photo of the AMT one later today if I get to it.

Wouldn't the '57 Convertible have the same setup as the BelAir? The kit already exists, they're just "cutting" the roof off. Beyond the required convertible parts I wouldn't expect much new.

True, but who knows..maybe they are including some extras for differentiation. Since they haven't shown a tooling mockup, it's all just random speculation at this point...

I gotta say I'm extremely happy with the coming years releases.

Beyond the new castings I'm kinda happy with the Foose '67 Charger. I loved that build.

Really looking forward to the '57 Ford! The kit looks perfect in the photos.

I hope the '57 Chevy BelAir ragtop will have the windshield frame molded to the body rather than a clunky, ill-fitting chrome piece like the ones in the '55 Chevy and '59 Cadillac convertibles!

Did I see somewhere that they were going to re-release Boothill Express?

I could have sworn I saw that.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

1/35 scale, VERY cool kit with working steering, working rear suspension, working outriggers and functioning wrecker boom. It has been issued several times as a military wrecker and once as a funky civilian wrecker in white with chrome parts.

Is this the civilian version?:

And is that a skunk figure???:

Why in world would they make the '53 Corvette in 1/24 when almost every other Corvette they make is 1/25???
it is highly unlikely that after buying at least 6 different Revell Corvettes in 1/25 that i am going to buy a 1/24th.

I really think that is stupid. I am sorry, but this makes no sense.

Sorry, rant over.

joe.

Very simple explanation. It's a reissue of the Monogram kit. That's all.
