We'll find out in the Fall when the kit actually hits the market.

If this kit is a major improvement over the past Pocher "modern" kits (Porsche and Ferraris), then I can see paying $600 or so. But if this kit is on the same level as those others, no way will they be seeing 600 of my dollars. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I think I read somewhere that this one will be 650 parts or so. That would indicate a higher level of detail than the Ferraris and the Porsche. At least I hope so!

Not into Pocher, not much on Lamborghini, not much on the large scale, on a social security budget, but dang, this is one I might just blow a whole years modeling on!

I seriously need to spend less on models and more on real cars, but a 1/8 Aventador would be ***awesome***

I'd buy one.

I contacted Hornby as an Airfix dealer to see if the usual channels in North America that already import Airfix and Humbrol would also be carrying the Pocher brand, and they told me that yes they would expect that they would, but that it is up to the individual importer as to whether they wanted to carry the line.

Estimate price is 600 euro or US $818 on todays currency converter. Available from 3rd quarter this year.

The website says that includes 19% German VAT which can be deducted for export

This is the most they've shown on their website.

I also don't expect pricing much below the average of their early kits on eBay. I see their new stuff being in the $400-$600 range. Especially if they use the same type materials, like steel, brass, stainless, nickel plate-all materials more expensive than they were 30+ years ago. PE parts would also rate premium pricing-they didn't have that process for their early kits. Realize that Tamiya's Enzo is $400 street price and it's a smaller scale with less diverse material content.

Lastly, if a MFH 1/25 kit is $250, what would it cost in 1/8? And MFH cast parts in a cheaper material and don't have to include machined fasteners in their kits.

Hornby isn't starting this game just to sell giant $200 kits.

Jus' sayin'...

Glad to see my logic held up.   :P

I'd say the Pocher engine looks amazing. Assuming it comes out to around $700, looks like a deal to me.

At the recent Nuremberg show, Pocher (Hornby Int.) unveiled a new 1/8 kit of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.   Links and pics below (last link is a video of the car)

When I showed this to "the little woman" she took one look & said it was the most convincing model she has ever seen. Then like me she said it would probably be one of those models that a person would have to go to the bank to get a loan to buy, & the possibility of a local hobby shop actually stocking one would be as likely as Wal Mart putting it on their shelves.

That said, how much will it run? Or is it one of those "if you have to ask you can't afford it" deals?
