I guarantee the revell kits will be worth big bucks in 10 years. These cars may not win any speed records ,but i'd love to see them race . seriously think about a donk hillclimb or even something like a rally scenario.

They are called "donks" because thats the noise a ball joint makes when it comes apart.

 ..... There are also sub categories of the "Donk". Box or Bubble depending on the general shape of the car's body style.

Ah, we don't need to like them. They make somebody happy and the world won't miss a few old cars

I believe that the steel company that did the stainless cars used them as a sales tool to advertise the duribility of the product.their top salesmen drove the cars on sales calls, some putting hundreds of thousands of miles on them.A couple of the 36 Fords were eventually canibilized for parts to repair others that had been damaged.

Ugh...Good Grief !

This one is polished stainless steel.

I have seen this one in person at the Goodguys Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale AZ in November 2011, it's one of the total six 36 Ford 2 Door Sedans special ordered by Allegheny Ludlum Steel with all stainless steel outer panels, the car is owned by Lon Kueger and Leo Gephardt if it's not sold since then.
The original order was for ten cars but the press tools wore out after just six and these six 36 2-Door Sedans are the last made of that body style that year.

Here is a picture I took of the car at the Goodguys meet at Westworld.

Real trucks don't have ball joints.

Nope, trunions and kingpins like a Studebaker. The term Donk came about because someone thought the Impala emblem resembled a donkey. Well, at least they did not use the other three letter word that describes the same animal.

Is that what they call them? Really? Gee willikers.

What's the point? I don't get it. I kinda like my cars to actually accelerate, stop, and handle WELL...which none of these are capable of.

I believe the term Donk is an abbreviation of Donkey... So I guess you know why they're called Donks now ;-)
