Red '90 Mustang Coupe

10 January 2015 - 02:56 PM

Here is a build I completed a couple months ago.  I started with the Revell kit and the Greg Wann resin body.

The resin body and the kit went together like a hand in a glove. I changed a few things, like the wheels and brakes from a Revell Saleen Speedster kit, seats from the 1:24 Revell 1993 Mustang Cobra kit. (Which fit really nice) I modified the engine compartment a little and added the Manifold, heads and headers from the '93 Cobra kit.

I added the strut tower brace from a late model Mustang kit and added an aluminum radiator from my parts box.

I put together an exhaust system from parts box parts. I made upper and lower control arms for the rear axle from scratch. Added sub frame connectors made from scrap styrene.

I cut the middle out of the resin hood and added the middle, but slightly bigger, part of the plastic kit hood to make a scale 2" cowl induction hood.

Everything that came with the resin body is shown in the last picture. All the parts are nicely cast, nice and crisp detail, smooth finish.

A few amateur pictures from the Circle City show 10/25/14

Here are a few pictures that I took at the Circle City show in Indianapolis.

There were a lot of really nice models there.  272 entries.

I picked up small great deals at the swap meet too.  My whole family had a great time.

Here is a link to my fotki page to see the pictures.  Enjoy.

Here is some pictures my Wife took at the South Central Indiana Modelers Association in Columbus Indiana this past weekend.  It's always a good little show and swap meet.

Pictures of HMCA Contest, Indianapolis, May 3

19 April 2014 - 05:24 AM

The Hoosier Model Car Association will be holding it's 34th annual model car contest and swap meet on Saturday May the 3rd,

9am - 4pm.      It will be at the Knights of Columbus hall at 511 E Thompson Rd, in Indy. It's just south of I-465 and right off of US-31.

The theme this year is "50 years of the Mustang".   They will be giving a special hand-made plaque for the best Mustang as well as for all the other special awards. Plus $50.00 to the "Best in Show".

It's always a great show and there's always lots of vendors there from several states.

Admission to the swap meet is $2.00, free for kids under 12.   The contest costs $3.00 for the first model, $1,00 for the rest.  Kids 16 and under only $1.00 each.

Where else can you spend $5 for half a days fun, and get together with your modeling freinds and most likely make some new ones while you're there?

So please come on out, you'll be glad you did!
