Triumph T100 - Revell 1/8

25 September 2007 - 04:38 AM

Hi all.......................

Finally made some meaningful progress on the latest project - Triumph T100.
This as many will know being the 1/8 Revell kit.
I'm building it pretty much as it comes, concentrating on simple basic modelling techniques and detail painting for the effect - trying to keep the build as light and enjoyable as possible.

Here then is a few pic's of the basic engine, as ever excrutiatingly enlarged..............it reads much better in the flesh. The polished cover has just been pressed on with Blu-tac to take the pic's with and will be secured later when most of the heavy handling is done with.
As mentioned mainly down to detail painting and a few judicious additions.

Here you go .......................

Monogram 1/24......... MG-TC.

03 September 2007 - 12:38 PM

Hi guys....................

Here'a a walk round of an old build that's never been fully seen here, I did post a short "pictorial how to" on the wire wheels not too long ago and seeing as I'd recently posted this walk round elsewhere - and I don't think there's much of a cross over in viewers?............. So after the efforts of composing the post, I thought I'd give it a week or so and see if you guys fancied a look-see?
There are several more shots of various in-progress sequences and assemblies but most of it is pretty much covered here. If you have the kit or built it in the past you'll be aware of just how tiny the completed model is? - So, when viewing these mercilessly enlarged pic's - please be gentle, [smiling].

Here you go then.......................

Apologies about the amount of pic's, I do try and make sure that all are under 100k for any dial-up guys, but I thought it best to get this all over and done this one time!!

Thanks for looking guys............. as ever thoughts or comments welcome.

Cheers all............... Andi

Scale Wire Wheels!

26 August 2007 - 04:19 AM

Hello all................

Here's a post I made on another board - it was suggested that I might post it here too, so here you go....................

I built a little MG-TC some while ago now and an interest has been shown in the reproduction of the wire wheels.
rather than a long and involved tutorial what I've done is to put together a more concise "Pictorial".
The pic's are in a seqence and should make a readable instruction of sorts - at least it should point you in a direction at which to aim?

Here you go then...................... 9 pic's..............

Login problem [Remember me]

11 August 2007 - 01:14 AM

Just a quick post to see if I'm the only one that's suffering from a "remember me" issue?

I may be missing something despite checking out the various control portions of the site, but the board regardless of checking the "remember me" option continually logs me out after 24 hours it seems?
I actually read the board by logging into the "most recent posts" option and purusing from there. This is negated by being logged out and I'm constantly having to relog in, or work through the Active posts list.
Not the end of the world but my visits are always of the flying type and to be honest I'm starting to skip the board as with my limited time the constant necessary logging in each day is becoming wearisome.

Am I missing some vital tick option. Or is anyone else experiencing this anomolly?

Ducati S4 Monster.

26 June 2007 - 03:12 AM

Hi All...............

Just a quick update on whats's happening around my bench at the moment.
My main reason for building this was the fact that I saved a lovely engine from out of the Ducati 916 by Revell, such a shame to hide all that detail behind a fairing. Anyway I unwittingly opened a huge can of worms by trying to kitbash the engine between kits. The S4 Monster is a very basic low parts kit that relies heavily on detail painting for its impact, whereas the 916 is a full-on build. The kit engineering and the bike models themselves were not really compatable and the work involved is I'm thinking only marginally worth the effort. An awful lot of the detail is still going to be buried up underneath the tank, or hidden behind the frame so I'm regreting the decision already - that is, in light of my new "NO BURNOUT" philosophy of modelling.
As ever these outrageous enlargements are merciless, but I thought I'd post some pics before the build moved on any further.
