Anyone asked for a late model Camaro ZL1 or Z28 in 1:18?

19 September 2014 - 02:22 PM

I can't be the only one still waiting for one of these, am I?? I mean a decent one from AutoArt or Greenlight? I have a resin ZL1 from Luxury Models, it's nice but I'm more into diecast with opening hoods and doors and trunks... I guess it's not as important as a Mustang GT 500... How about a Corvette ZR-1, or a more upscale 2014 Corvette Stingray (I have all the Maistos, ALL of them are modified with carpeting and painted moldings and more detailing and also a BBR resin) for that matter? anyone?

Problems with Windows 8 to copy paste to this forum?

28 July 2014 - 04:13 AM

Hi guys, I don't know if I should post this here or elsewhere, but here goes...

I've been posting all sorts of pictures and picture links from photo hosting sites with the photo adress from sites like Imageshack and Windows7 and XP without any problems before. It was just a 'Copy-Paste' thing and everything went relatively smoothly.

My old XP computer having enough is getting pretty ill and I thought it was time to get a newer one. So I got a Windows 8 equipped laptop.

Also Imageshack went money-money so I went with Tinypic (free).

Now, I just cannot Copy-Paste anymore, it just will not copy from either the photo host to this forum at all. I even copied the photo address to the computer 'notepad' and then copy-paste to this forum, still nothing. Need help!

Another Ford!

27 July 2014 - 11:31 AM

This is my annual summer project. Well actually I had started a Kenworth W900L but got tired of working on it as there are all kinds of little détails to work out... I'll post something of it later.

Anyhoo, for now, this is it, It's an Italeri LTL9000 wrecker that I am building as a restored daycab work tractor for shows. So there will be some things that might look out of whack for some of you, such as the frame that will look a bit long. I'm not bothering with cutting the frame as I scrapped the orginal kit frame once I found I put it together skewed and I don't want to screw up this one. So I used the frame off of the Freightliner FLC instead. It's a pretty nice fit, thanks to the members who helped me out on this.

Now, this truck is going to have a white cab with red and black stripes with a Tamiya italian red painted frame, fuel tanks and battery boxes. I swapped the wheels for some 6 spoke wheels all around with wide super single tires and wide rims in front. The wheels will be the classic red spider with white rims and chrome baby moons in the back. The wheels are resin parts from KFS and are looking pretty good, are very nicely cast and fit just right on the kit axles with some adjustments. They are made so they can rotate on the kit front axle. I modified the rear axles so the rears can rotate too. The kit's front axle was too wide to allow the wider rims so I swapped it for a shorter KFS 1:25 scale item.

I will change the exhaust system to have muffler stacks from a Revell Kenworth instead of the skinny stock pipes. I also swapped the Cummins for a Detroit Diesel Silver 8V92T from Auslowe. This resin casting is pretty good, although I had to do some trimming and sanding here and there, but it IS a very good kit compared to kits from another source. It is based on the AMT Kenworth Aerodyne kits engine and goes together well. This engine fits pretty nicely in the Cummins place. (It's smaller, I did notice.)

I will install a headache rack also and probably a hydraulic oil tank for either a future dumper or who knows, a gooseneck lowboy? So I will try to upload some pics soon.

Italeri american truck frames almost all the same?

22 July 2014 - 04:30 AM

Ok guys, I just started an Italeri Ford LTL9000 and did the frame wrong, it's skewed on one side. I  read that most Italeri frames are pretty much the same. Is this correct? Because I'd like to use the frame off a Freightliner FLC I will not build instead of dismantling this one and rebuilding it just as crooked as it is or (most likely...) even worse. Tell me what you think.

Sooooo... This little Challenger puts out: a nice 707HP and 650 Lb-ft. Nuff said.
