'69 Pace Car - DW Style

09 December 2014 - 03:58 AM

I built this for the Car-Toons contest , it's a Deal's Wheels Zzzzzz28 bashed with a Revell '69 Camaro .

It's painted with Tamiya TS-26 Pure White and TS-31 Bright Orange and finished with two coats of TS-13 Clear . I printed my own decals and the wheels / tires are diecast items .

Fun build , I hope you like it !

Monogram Little T

04 October 2014 - 03:31 PM

I picked up this 48 year old kit partially built and only missing a couple of parts .  After scrounging the missing pieces I cleaned everything as best I could then polished all of the red plastic parts .

I assembled it using only the kit parts with no extra or aftermarket parts being used .  I did make the header flanges since I thought they looked a little funny without them and I added a Ford script decal to the radiator shell .

This is a really nice kit and I'm already collecting parts to build another version !  :D

1976 El Camino SS

26 August 2014 - 07:01 AM

This is a model of an El Camino I once owned .  It was actually a '74 that I put a '76 front clip on ,  so to avoid any confusion I'm calling it a '76 .

I started about four months ago by modifying a Chevelle stock car body ,  including lengthening the wheelbase .  The bed is from the AMT '68 El Camino with a few modifications done to it .  I modified the front bumper by adding the parking lights , and made my own grille and rear bumper .   I used the headlights and interior from a Revell '77 Monte Carlo .  The chassis is from the '68 El Camino and the engine was built from my parts box .  The wheels and tires are from Fireball Modelworks .

The paint is Duplicolor Honda Starlight Silver Metallic ,  the stripes are my own decals ,  and it is cleared with TS - 13 .

I'm planning to build another one of these so I'd like some honest critiques and opinions .  There a few things I'm going to fix or do differently on the next one but I only have two eyes and would appreciate your feedback .

  Thanks for looking !

12 July 2014 - 12:54 PM

This is the recent reissue of the GoMad Nomad .  Built basically right out of the box with a couple small changes and additions .  Fun kit to build !  :D
