Topics I've Started

'57 Ford Custom Fordor

This is the Revell kit with resin 4 door sedan body, door panels and front seat from Morgan Automotive Detail. I sprayed it in a color to represent factory Cumberland Green with light green and grey interior. First I must say that the resin was excellent, and I had no fit problems with it. The wires/dist are from Fatkidd Hobby Products and the wide whites are 3M vinyl from Vinyl Nation. The paint I used was the worst stuff I've ever worked with, but after one strip job and a bunch of bad words, it all worked out in the end.

Been a while, had to take a break due to buying a new house. All moved in and set up with my new shop/office and ready to build again. Here's the first quickie done. AMT promotional bought off the 'Bay. Took it apart, cleaned it, interior is done in white and black, roof was shot in white enamel gloss, body is original Florentine Green, buffed out, and applied BMF. Front bumper is done in Spaz-Stix.

'62 Imperial Crown 4 door hardtop

I've had this kit for about 25 years, molded in maroon, built and needing a restoration. Finally did something with it. The Foxcraft fender skirts were glued so tight that I could not attempt getting them off without breaking the quarters, so they live on. This is an old Revell kit from late '61, and no replacement parts are available, so I had to be careful. The color is '62 Mopar Sapphire Blue metallic, laquer with several coats of DuPont 7480S clear. It is built as a curbside due to lack of detail under the hood. Interior is a matching blue with charcoal metallic dash, and black flocking for carpet and rear deck. Chrome is done in Spaz-Stix. After looking at it for 25 years in it's former sad state, I'm happy to have it done now.

1979 Plymouth Horizon TC-3

Got this kit from Al Rich (thatz4u) in an awesome trade deal! Thanks Al! I changed it from a TC-3 Sport, to a base model TC-3 by removing the molded in rear spoiler, removing the molded in quarter window half louvers, and adding white wall tires. It's finished to simulate Nightwatch Blue, but it's a little bright in the sun. Straight enamel with Dupont 7480S clear. What a junk kit these things are. Nothing fits, everything is pretty much a guess. Man how I don't miss the '80s! It sits a tad high and the wheels should be tucked in a bit, but that would call for quite a bit of fabrication. Just a shelf model of an odd subject.

Extremely quick detail of an Atomic Orange metallic Revell dealer promo. Revell did a great job on these........the only thing left to be done was the black on the A pillars, around the drip rails and the door handles. Not crazy about these cars, just wanted one in my collection to represent this style of 'Vette.
