Hi guys, I started this hobby when I was about 10 years old, my mum bought me a Revell kit and from that day, I was hooked! A 20 year Military career kept me away from the bench most of the time, however i continued to purchase and store kits for future projects.
After my military career finished, I jumped back into the hobby.....very slowly.
I started to read lots of mags about the hobby and how to do things better.
I think the most important thing about building car models is to not take it seriously and just have fun.
I'm a big fan of muscle cars from the 60s and 70s.
I currently have a bug for old kits and have purchased a few which I'm keen to make plans for.
On the bench at the moment (August 2014) 39 Chev (sleeper) and a 49 Ford (mild custom).
I'm a strong believer in researching the subject before you tackle it and it brings out better results!
Most of my builds take a month to complete, although I have a few that have taken longer or have been shelved due to a rethink or change in plans!!
I like to have at least 2 projects on the go at anytime, sometimes it's been 3...
I don't have an airbrush so I just use rattle cans such as Tamiya, Testors and Mr Colour.
I live in Adelaide, South Australia near the beach and I have a spare room were I build my projects, my dog and cat like to hang around the room and chill out when I'm building.
My daughter is also a big influence on me, she likes to pick the colours for my projects and she keeps me away from the bench pursuing her goals and dreams, she is my rock!
I now work in the mining industry as a consultant, were I spend most of the time traveling to different sites all over the country.
All the best
