Modellpularn Posted March 4, 2009 Share Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) This car might be considered a Trans Am race car by you guys. And I was thinking of building one of the first Penske cars. I have the decals to do the #36 car. But we are starting a model racing series over here, and so I thought about building something that raced on our tracks in the 60's. It will be red. I've gutted the inner fenders: Next up was some flared fender lips. I was thinking of using these in front of the car, but naahh, wrong! So I cut into the wheel wells, and sanded the final shape, using a Humbrol tin with a piece of coarse sandpaper wrapped around it. Works great! When I was satisfied with the shape, I cut pieces of Evergreen strip and glued them in place at an angle. I've now cut the excess plastic, and trown some putty on the flares, to blend everything. Still have to add some sponsor decals, and clearcoat. Those pics will come later.....
