  1. Thanks for the advice all. i'm going to take Chief Joseph's advice and just build this the way it is to the best of my ability.I'll also listen to Harry and get a Tamiya kit for my next project. A question I have is how do you know it's not a curbside version? I''d be bummed out to spend that kind of money and not have an engine! Art,thanks for the "snapshot" perspective, it makes perfect sense.Although I'm new at this I'm really enjoying it and a forum with people like you only makes it better. Thanks Again
  2. I just received the Quaker State Porsche March Indy Car made by Monogram and upon opening the box a number of things bothered me.Overall accuracy of the kit seems borderline(I know the steering wheel and dash are off),not the best instructions with a real weakness in the paints needed. I'm a relative newcomer to modeling and a total newbie to open wheel race cars, I love both Indy car and F1 racing so I thought this would be a good area for me to focus on,My question is ,Is this a good kit ? can it be built into an accurate representation of the real thing? Any tips ,experience or advise would be greatly appreciated thanks
  3. After reading all the responses I will not by another kit until I finish the 5 kits I own. I do have a 1/72 Czech biplane that is just too small for these old eyes so that will sit, If anyone wants that for the cost of shipping they can have it
  4. I'm trying to get some gear together to try detailing up a model.Today I got some different gauge wire.I have gauges 20 thru 30 I'm thinking 20 gauge for brake & fuel lines and the 30 for ignition wires. .This is for 1/24 or 1/25 cars.Is this sufficent? I'm not sure about radiator and heater hoses. Are there any other items I should purchase as I start out? Thanks for reading
  5. Any Javelin Pinto Wagon (1980ish) Chevy Luv (early 70's) 77 AMC Eagle Wagon Dodge Omni O24 (1980)
  6. Thanks everyone ,heading to town this morning I'll see what I come up with
  7. Does anyone have a suggestion on what size drill bits would be appropriate for detailing car engines and general model building? thanks
  8. Just starting out in the hobby and I'm still collecting tools, right now I'm looking for a pin vise and some different gauges of wire.I'm also still trying to figure out what to build for my 2nd project(too many options).I know that Id like to avoid a curbside unit.Detailing out the engine compartment strikes me as most enjoyable. Let me close be saying how impressed I am by the level of knowledge and skill I've seen on this forum. Best Wishes Joe
