i got the idea to louvre the trunk , some revel kits have 2 versions .. this one did not have that ..

i had some left over sides of hoods from revel kits with louvres ...

it would have been easy to work them into the trunk but then i would end up with what revell makes ..

i wanted something more rough and ....

the sides of the hood , started flat and the other one is already bend a tiny bit , i kept bending them untoll i got them in the shape of the trunk

:)

i made a small visor on the front so i can ,et the wood frame i am going to make sit against that

used parts of the roof of my real woody build

73765_251960231603561_1354813928_n.jpg

now the horizontal seem will be gone , i want to make it one piece and add rivits on the sides so it looks like

put on panels , bit rough

also want to make sunken taillights in the lower part and maybe in the middle a fuel filler neck / gasscap sticking out

so still rough but you get the idea

thnx !!

well this udate really shows the idea i had in mind with this rear end

first flattened the bondo

483810_253201971479387_731728270_n.jpg

then the exiting part , this can easely go wrong , i first messured 3 times and drilled with a much smaller drill

and then made 2 big holes lol ...

540527_253201951479389_809242909_n.jpg

they seem very big right ? but thats because i took 2 bezels from lego out of my sons box (my old lego) and cut it to become light houses , rewd lenses can be placed behing or on this

554555_253202038146047_795210348_n.jpg

all together the proportions look good , i will bondo slighly aroiund the edges

542503_253802528085998_1123875386_n.jpg

started on the roof frame > made a plug that fit perfect , first made out of cartboard and then from styrene

482644_254324961367088_1365261801_n.jpg

then made a outeredge from that , the inside line on this pic is still rough , not done

398103_254324921367092_1999112959_n.jpg

out of loose srips of wood i covered the styrene plug edge and trimmed it so it looked like one piece

while building it looked alright but then ... hmmm looks to massive and big , with the right wood weathering it can become less bulky but still

734806_254324948033756_1369413607_n.jpg

408379_254324981367086_2122671229_n.jpg

rounded the edges a bit

644254_254325011367083_2057229586_n.jpg

67913_254325031367081_143760364_n.jpg

539000_254325041367080_662312552_n.jpg

then i got the idea to turn it upside down and get the styrene edge on top ..

what i can do now is make a nother edge like this that runs onto the body edge and work that on the body and make it one piece .

then that obviously would get painted with the body

then i can slide the wood panel in there on to the edge after paiting

482906_254325111367073_1311026358_n.jpg

the inside would look like this then

There are two aspects of this build which appeal to me tremendously. One is the precision of the plastic fabrication. Examples at this level are such a pleasure to see and remind me what is achievable with sufficient practice and skill. I will almost regret it when you actually paint this project!

The other is the stance and proportion of the overall car. It really is exceptionally successful.

Thanx for sharing!

whow thnx guys :) well tbh props to this forum because since i came here it really inspired me and made me think about adding more details..

and i really am > still learning , but seeing stuff here made me just more exited and wanting to push the envelope

so again props to this awsome forum

i just tried the plans i had for a outer edge but quicly saw it wasnt that nice ...

so i wanted to try and make something of this frame if it failed make a new one ..

first tried to make something that resembles a pen and hole connection (dont know how you call that)

drilled small holes and put a wood meet stick with the pint in (glued) and flattened it

482119_254344018031849_1332256453_n.jpg

the whole frame is still rough and needs a lot of sanding , also will ad a black wash so that go's in the wood grain and then sand it again so the top is lighter and that way there will be some depth in the wood instead of one pain color

drileld some holes in teh center as a line just to make the thing look more interesting , imo it really makes it lighter visually

also the frame is slightly sunken that also creates depth in comparison to fluch with the outer edge

483875_254344111365173_1611999003_n.jpg

now i got a new idea and i want to try and make some rails on the side and make a rolled up canvas roof , like real canvas rolled to the back , maybe some straps on it ..

but tonight i have a birthday to go to and tomorrow we are celebrating my wife;s birth day so no painting for me this weekend

Very nice. What I like about your work is that you spend a lot of time thinking and planning, trying to make things look right in your minds eye. That's the definition of an artist! It's fun to watch your process.

thnx !!!!

well thinking yes , planning not so much , i never start out with a fixed plan and just build and see what i will end up with

sometimes in the middle of a build i will search for reference .when i suddenly know what i want and then use reference
