so a few weeks ago or so 'Ollies' had that sale on models, and naturally I couldn't resist buying too many. I ended up with a pile of these,

so the other day, I got in a mood to crack open one of them [as I was waiting on paint to dry on a few other projects] and started to get the body in shape for primer/paint, and it ended up in the booth,

so I then thought, if doing one now is good, let's start a few more! so I have two more in primer this morning,

the ultimate plan is to build these to cart them around on,

just need to pick up one more of the Camaro kits to make the 1/2 dozen.

thanks all. the color on the blue one is GM spray touch up paint, I saw it on a 2014 Silverado at work, and ordered a can of it. it's called 'Luxo Blue Metallic. of note, the paint layed down great.

got the other two in color now,

Nassau blue and hugger orange. the orange may need a trip to the pond, looks like I got something on the body and it has some fisheye, i'll see if I can massage it out, but it may need to go swimming.

on the blue one, I have the clear wet sanded out, just need to polish it out now. I also painted the tail white to match the box art scheme, and will do so on the rest of them.

may be slow going after I get all the bodies painted, but stay tuned.......

David, they didn't have that, I just happened to get the Camaro's there, the titan and transporters just happened to be in my stash.

Although I would like to say David, your advice in one of my topics about painting has helped me tremendously, without your input, I would still be chasing my tail for a shiny/deep paint job, for that input, I am truly grateful, and can't thank you enough, each of my paint jobs is an extension of you in one form or another, I hope I do your input justice, and thank you again.

Thanks tbill. Every now and then someone posts something that you don`t know exactly how to respond to. Thanks so much for the complement. It`s hard to believe that anything I can do can inspire people. I hope my advice serves you well. The blue looks brilliant! I am looking forward to seeing a couple of them finished.

got a few coats of clear on the Nassau blue and the hugger orange bodies,

photo_zpsa7dd88f9.jpg

got some color on some interior bits as well, icy blue [for the Nassau blue]

photo_zps80f3f983.jpg

orange [for the hugger orange]

photo_zps66cf9a80.jpg

and black [for the dark blue]

photo_zps0606a776.jpg

need to do a little work on the bucket seats for the orange and black interiors before I can paint them, and the orange needs another coat of paint, then some dull coat or semi gloss coat to knock the shine down.

still want to put a few more coats of clear on the bodies before I paint the white on the tail sections. also waiting on my other two paint colors to come in at work.

I almost have an assembly line going for these, lol. the bench is getting crowded.......

Chris, will be using the spoilers on all of these, but will keep my eyes open.

thanks guys. so far the only one that is polished out is the dark blue one, i hope to really get some shine out of the other ones once they are sanded and polished.

Michael, i took a gamble and used testors lacquer primer, it worked out well, and again, the GM paint is from GM in spray cans [it also smells way worse than lacquer model paint, lol].

hope to get another interior or two in color tonight when i get home.

all roughed in color-wise,

got some chassis plates primed, and gas tanks painted, need to mask off the tanks and get out the semi-gloss and flat blacks,

photo_zps358a466d.jpg

still need to paint the tail sections on the rest of them, once all the 'big' paint work is done, I will start detailing the interiors, and start gluing motors together etc.

thanks for looking, stay tuned.......
