Anyone's Got Any Info On The Lindberg Dodge L-700?

Recommended Posts

There is an example of one built in the trucks forum.

Basically this is a very old kit, so you can expect a lot of flash and some peculiarities associated with building a kit designed in the 60's.

One the other hand it is an unusual subject the price is very low. Truck, trailer and a car under $30 is hard to beat.

If you are ok with a kit you have to spend some time with to get it right no problem, if you prefer kits that kind of fall together you might want to look elsewhere.

Im considdering getting this kit and would like find out some about it, so any links to WiP pics and just "reviews" and info of the sort would be nice.

Thanks for reading!

Hi jaffa,

I am building the L-700 presently. I'm a bit out of my comfort zone, but having a lot of fun still. Aaronw is right on with his comments. I have spent more time with each piece of plastic cleaning flash & filling sinkholes than I have with any other model. That being said, all pieces have gone together well so far. I am also out of my element by building a truck model, so I count on doing research on line. There's not much out there. Not a problem, I'm going to build a custom truck.

I'll try to post what I have done to this point within the next 24 hours.

IMO Get the kit... It's cool and it's worth it.

I picked one up about a month ago. Got it a Wally world, belive it

or not. Was only 25 bucks. Yes, there is alot of flashing. And the fit

and finish is the same as it was back in the 60s when IMC first releasrd

this kit. Alot of small parts. fit of them is terrible, but take your

time and go slow. I found that the oil pan on the engine fits in the

frame better backwards. But the real truck engines had a rear sump.

I'm building it as a car hauler. I took the last section of the trailer

and dove tailed it slightly. Those ramps are quite long. I would hate

to have to carry them if they were real. I still don't know what color

I'm going to paint it. The only reason I got this kit is because I only

build Mopars. Just had to have it. It will look great with some old

A,B or E bodies on the back.

Good luck building.
