Mr. Can Am Garage
Does anyone know if it works with Testors enamel? FYI, this isn't for a car model but an aircraft.
Zoom Zoom
I doubt it, but who knows? Plain old hardware store lacquer thinner is what I cut Testors enamel with. It's dirt cheap and hasn't ever caused any crazing. Dries faster too. I would save Mr. Color Thinner for cutting hotter paints like Black Gold HOK stuff, or thinning decanted Tamiya sprays. Tamiya's own lacquer thinner seems identical to Mr. Color Thinner.

BTW, Mr. Color Thinner works real well with nail polish
bobss396
I would still give the Mr. Color thinner a try with the enamel. I also like it for nail polish work, just helps it flow out a little better. Bob
larrygre
I can't say for regular Testors or Humbrol enamels, but the Mr. Color thinner works great with the new HOK bottle paints.
larrygre
John, I don't see why the Mr. Color thinner would not work with Testors enamels, but I don't honestly think it would buy you anything significant to do so. I'm kinda partial to the normal Testors Airbrush Thinner for spraying "mainstream" enamels as it is "hotter" than normal enamel thinners (mineral spirits) and has always worked well for me. If you're spraying that aircraft with Model Master FS paints or similar, go with the Airbrush Thinner.
