MCM Ohana

MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Nice model. A very futuristic looking car in its day.
  2. Rick, to those readers on here who are not engineers you might have needed to explain what a Z stop is. Basically there are three axes. X axis is Horizontal Left to Right motion. Y axis is Horizontal Front to Back motion and the Z axis that Rick refers to is Vertical Up and Down motion. The Z stop would be to limit the down motion so that the tool makes very light but consistent marks on the material.
  3. Very competent conversion to make a very unique model. Brilliant work Michael. The standard Volvo Amazon is a very nice looking car in its own right too. Just out of casual interest Ixo Collections make a 1/8th scale kit of the Amazon that looks really good.
  4. Yea! I'm getting a bit disappointed about having nothing to irk me today ! Wait a second ! I'm getting irked at my disappointment about not getting irked ! Problem solved ! Lol.
  5. And I always thought that 1/8th scale model cars were enormous. These Ectomobiles are a tad more than enormous ! I mean, where do you put such things in an average home? Tried the link to Blitzway's website. Found it really wanting in places on my tablet as I could not look at anything properly on it. Or was it just me? I gave up on it in the end.
  6. I expect the knuckle dragger security team were waiting for him to wander into an off camera area and impress on his mind his bad behaviour.
  7. I wish that Atlantis would acquire the Renwal Revival moulds (if they still exist that is) and reissue them. Failing that is there any full set of Renwal Revival kits owner out there who would let someone scan and copy them for 3D printing?
  8. You can sit in a circle with the rest of us who have succumbed to being Plasticoholics Bill ! Lol.
  9. I think I found a couple of die cast Simca 1000 models. A road and rally version, both in 1/24 th scale. The reason I am looking is because I used to own one back in the Sixties that I tuned up a bit and have a desire to make a model of my old car.
  10. You are right there David! It is often the challenges of a longer term build, adding details and refining kit items that give the most satisfaction. My personal main interest is in building models of older cars and why I am following this particular build. It is really coming along well and fascinating to see how you are overcoming things and tackling it generally. It certainly will be a very nice model to be proud of when it is finished.
