Radio Flyer?

Recommended Posts

Thanks, John

Is that the tractor-pull type truck? IIRC that kit was molded in yellow... I probably got in a grab bag or something, because I've never owned it.

I'm missing two wheels and the rear axle but I can scratch build the axle and cast the two remaining wheels

I am fairly certain there was one in the AMT Meister Brau pulling tractor kit, molded in yellow. Same kit was molded in grey also I believe.

Correct......I have two of those kits....they have wagons in them.

CBS Sunday Morning had a cool segment on Radio Flyer Co......topp 100 companies to work for!!

Yep, the Orange Blossom Special was a puller- a '37 Chevy pickup, I think- that had three engines and was molded in gray. I got one at a KB Toys waaaaayyyyyyy back; the box was pretty trashed but there were still good parts in there. I think I paid maybe a buck for it.

Yeah I was thinking that the Orange Blossom Special was molded in orange styrine at first and the Meistrbrau tractor in yellow... either way this wagon is pretty sweet. I poured a mold tonight(first half of a 2 piece mold) for the front axle / tongue / handle and one wheel. I'll rework one copy of the front axle into a rear axle and cast an entire wagon kit in one larger mold... hopefully :D

Here is how I put my wagon to use:

A little diorama called 'safety day'

The figure on the wagon is the kid from the Revell original VW micro bus kit

the police and fire figures are Tamiya tank commaders with heads replaced with cop head from MPC gangbusters, and fire head from Preiser set, Girl on bike iand FDNY t shirt kid are Tamiya campus set. photo taker and pedal car kid from Prieser wedding set. dogs are Marx 'bullet' dogs
