Engine painted.

Model Master Chrysler Engine Blue ( it does have that turquoise color to it although the pics make it look darker)

Alternator was striped in bleach.

Then painted with Testors Flat Aluminum. Then detailed with, Testors Copper.

Then the bracket was painted with Testors Semi-Gloss Black.

I may black wash it also.

Here's the paint list so far for the body, and body parts.

post-10664-0-72158600-1406911961_thumb.j

1 good even coat of primer on everything.

About 4 light coats of Competition Orange for everything.

Body was buffed out after 48 hours with Novus 2 polish.

As so the hood.

Then 3 light coats on the front valence and rear panel with Testors Glosscote.

2 light coats on the body followed up by 1 wet coat.

On clear I allowed 10 mins in between the first two coats. Then 15 minutes after that I applied the 3 light coat and 1st wet coat.

Also the hood was taped on to allow even coverage of clear.

The clear over the Flat Black, allows it to have a matte look.

The paint dried pretty good with nothing in the paint except a time piece of hair on the hood. Which luckily it landed on it after the wet coat. So now all I have to do is lightly wet sand the mark away.

Looking very good! I am thing of a General as my next project, it's tied with Monograms '71 GTX right now.

It's been a cool and fun project so far. Although chargers aren't my favorite. They are definitely pretty cool to build.

Having a general in your stash of builds is always cool. I plan to make a cool diorama for this too!

Gtx is a hard toss up. Depends if you want to do your own style, or follow something.

Cheers,

Thanks,

Byron

It's a inside joke Danno hates The a Dukes and the GL.

You're half right, Lee.

1. I don't hate either the Dukes or the General Lee.

2. However, I outgrew the DOH worship-hysteria when my kids did, 30 years ago.

3. My grandson likes the DOH and the General Lee.

4. My grandson is 7-years old.

5. He and I will be building the new Round2 snapper together when it comes out next month.

6. I just recently finished a special version of the General, myself.

7. So, I don't hate either the Dukes or the General Lee.

8. The notion that I did was an off-shoot and bastardization of a running joke a couple of years ago.

9. I don't hate the DOH or the General Lee. I just have other things to do with the rest of my life.

Haha well that's great you don't hate it.

I'm not the biggest fan.

But I was cool seeing them get back into it, for that auto trader commercial.

I stand corrected sir! ;)

Well just order a detail master distributor kit,

I'm going with orange plug wires.

Ordered a pin vise.

Ordered some vector rims that are even more accurate then the eckler corvette kit.

And tires from the same source.

I've never ordered a distributor kit, do they come with little instructions?

Happy modeling,

Byron
