stang_crazy
Ok first off what I've seen where some of ya get plans that show dimensions etc.. for semi trailers and then scale them down I THINK??? That being said im wondering if anything is available for a more modern open car transporter. Like the style ya see cars being hauled to the dealerships on. I know ROG had a few versions with just the trailer and one with truck/trailer. My problem is the prices are completely insane. Heck id take a built up that's in dire need of a resto. Id be more then happy to do the work on it. Figured id ask about plans then make a post in the wanted section to see if anyone's got a built they want to part with. So if ya guys know of anything that shows dimensions, different views of it etc... that be great. thanks. chuckyr
My problem is the prices are completely insane. I'd bet you would spend $60 on the new Moebius or Meng pick up trucks!
Q tip
if you decide to scratch build the conversion will be 1"=2.1 scale feet in 1/25 scale and 1"=2 feet in 1/24. good luck
stang_crazy
I probably would on the meng kit as it should be close to the $50-70 price range, the Mobius wont be that high & those will be new production kits, the trailer has been out of production for a while. Unless there is a rerelease coming that I don't know about. But the price for these are about $200-250 if ya get truck/trailer combo the trailer alone is $100-150.00 plus shipping charges. So that's a bit out of my range. All I want is just the trailer. if I could find one in the $70ish range I would take one.

Honestly, to agree with Chucky (did I just say that!?!?! ), if you found the trailer alone for $100, I would have jumped on it at that price for an out of production kit. I bought the trailer in the release that is shown in your second pic, and at the time it was a current production kit, it was in the $50-$75 price range then, so $100 is not that outrageous. Of course, the way Revell is reissuing older kits, maybe in the next year or two it will be released again and it may be more in your price range. stang_crazy
Yeah I know, and do understand. Id probably hit the trigger at a $100. But no I did not find the trailer for $100. I was just giving a price range & im just meaning insane prices when your hitting these ranges $125-$150.00+ range for just the trailer. and $200+ for the truck/trailer. Matt can ya tell me when the last time this kit was issued? Matt can ya tell me when the last time this kit was issued? Thanks mike This is a rough estimate Mike, but I would say somewhere in the range of 2005 to 2008. This pic of my in progress one is dated as being taken on 1/22/2010 in my computer hard drive, but that is when I started being active on forums and it was already started by then and had a layer of dust on it. A friend of mine also has the Prestige truck and trailer version, and if my memory serves me correctly, he bought it sometime in the late 90s, and I know around the same time I bought my trailer, I had also bought a Revell of Germany Pete 359 that is the reissue of the tractor in the Prestige, and has similar red markings like the trailer only version. I more or less bought the same set as the Prestige, just having to buy it in two pieces instead of one. I would say if the schedule holds true to form by what I can remember from those issues, I would guess it may be due for another reissue within a couple of years. Also, just for a side note whenever you do finally get one, these trailers are surprising strong for the simpleness of just having basically the main frame rails and the racks themselves for support. Of the six cars on mine in the pic, four of those cars (all three on the bottom and the middle car on top) are diecasts!

I'd like to try and convert one to a low mount version like a normal fleet truck and make the racks completely operational. The only movable part of the decking in the kit is the rear top deck, all the other decks are solid mounted.
