Tom Geiger
Rob, I'm still thinking about headlights. I was rummaging though my junk box and came across a pack of promotional golf tees. I don't play golf and they wound up in my shape box I cut one down to try it out, doesn't look half bad. See the other old headlight next to it for size reference. Yes, the lights are big, so your standard clear lens from my junk box was too small but ones from a 30s car would fit fine.
Jantrix
Tom we can always count on you to come up with something cool. I'll add this to my files for future reference. Thank you very much sir. As luck would have it, my pal Slantasaurus will dropping by on Saturday with some '39 Chevy Buckets, so I'm set. I'm looking forward to a nice weekend with some serious bench time. More soon.

Guest
Looks good in paint Rob! Are you going to weather it or keep it shiny?
Jantrix
I'm going shiny on this one.
crazyjim
YES!! Have you finally been converted to the SHINY :) side, Rob. I hope so.
Jantrix
I've been painting mostly flats and weathered stuff for a long while now but mostly because I had no place to do a quality paint job. My attempts at gloss paints, painted outside or in the garage, always seemed to end in disaster. I now have a paint booth indoors and plenty of shiny paint saved up. I have no builds even on the drawing board that aren't shiny. I knew this would make you happy Jim. Also, working on acquiring a air brush compressor and will start really learning the trade. Jantrix
Thanks Richard. Your work on these types of hot rods has been very inspiring on this build. The red is Krylon satin burgundy.

Jantrix
Update. Grill and headlights. Headlights are '39 Chevy with the bezels frenched in and chrome trim added. Just a few things left. The kit's clear windshield piece is terrible. I'm going to use some clear acetate. Should have it done soon.

Jantrix
Final update. Nearly done. Next pics will be in the Under Glass section. Thanks for all the encouragement guys, it was a fun build. Edited December 9, 2013 by Jantrix
Bernard Kron
Wow, now that you've gotten things cleaned up and dialed in it sits beautifully and looks very "hooked up". The 'caps and rings are an important part of that, too. The last photos emphasizing the grill didn't do justice to the overall look. Are you including a windshield? Jantrix
Yep. I going to replace the kit glass with some clear acetate. It willa be the last piece I install. I'm glad you like it Bernard.
