Chuck Most
I hate when this happens.... One project stalls, and you hatch a plan for another...
Superpeterbilt
I hate when this happens.... One project stalls, and you hatch a plan for another... . Thats the story of my life Chuck. I hate the phrase "ADD", so I just say Im scatter brained. I cant finish one thing without starting 10 others. To many ideas........not enough time. Thats a cool old DR. Thats great subject matter for a model.
Chuck Most
Minor update, but at least I accomplished something with this thing. Yes, WF flaps on a DR. When your old beater needs mudflaps, it doesn't really matter if they "match" the make on the front when it really comes down to it. kilrathy10
They look good to me.....Got all kinds of stuff like that around here.....Can't be getting pulled over because you're picky.....
Chuck Most
Leaning toward adding some rear fenders made from Plastruct roof shingle sheet. Just not sure if I'll go full length or not. I also moved the fuel fillers to the front of the tanks- I'll touch them up later. "Finish" on the fenders will be like the 1:1 above... hopefully. Chuck Most
Started on the exhaust. Decided to go with mufflers- these were made from PVC tubing. The stand pipes are K&S aluminum tubing, and the lower pipes I dug out of the spares box. The intermediate pipes are lengths of leftover sprue. Casey
"Finish" on the fenders will be like the 1:1 above... hopefully. Diamond, very rough. It does have a ton of character, though, which makes for an interesting model. Are all six tires mismatched, too, on it? I see the LF tire is, um, rather worn. Chuck Most
I don't have the foggiest- I dug up that pic from the 'net. It clearly does have some mismatched rubber on it though. Seems pretty typical though- every old farm beater you see has an odd tire or two on it. If you're running a junker, doesn't matter what kind of tire it is as long as it's black, round, capable of holding air, and has something at least resembling tread on it. Chuck Most
Stacks are in place and fenders are mounted, using modified brackets from a Rex mixer. Getting warmer...
olsbooks
This is such a great looking old rig. "Fermenting iron" is an art and you have done a super job. Perhaps on the agenda, but consider "denting up" and "chewing up" the deck plate, fenders, and mud flaps. Very realistic!.
Truck parts
Great job

Perhaps on the agenda, but consider "denting up" and "chewing up" the deck plate, fenders, and mud flaps. Very realistic!. There's still a little room for, and possibility of, adding some "strategic mauling".

Chuck Most
Moved the headlights just a little bit inboard, and added the small parking lamps.

Petetrucker07
I saw this truck while cruisin through pages DR pics. Had to share it with ya Chuck.
Chuck Most
I actually used the straight-on front shot of that same truck as reference when I redid the grille.

Chuck Most
Since the kit mirrors are nowhere to be found, I was thinking of a setup like this... Mr. Davison's bread and butter may be barn and silo work, but what's stopping him from relocating small buildings on the side?
Chuck Most
This one should be "under glass" sometime today or tomorrow....
