  1. The colors are all enamels from Testors. The orange pearl is from thier Colors by Boyd line and the Graphite Metallic and flat black on the valve covers is from the Model Master line. The flat black on the hood is from a rattle can of standard home improvement paint.
  2. Havent posted in a few weeks so I wanted to bring you up to speed on my SC/Rambler project. I managed to get the interior cut as I needed it. Got the Nova chassis cleaned and ready for new paint. Finished assembling the resin 427 Hemi. Enlarged the hole in the hood for the blower. Painted the body two tone orange pearl and graphite pearl with a flat black hood. The engine, tranny, and intake are all orange pearl. The valve covers are flat black. Let me know what you think.
  3. Good start youve got going. To shave the emblems get you a chisel tip plade for your exacto.
  4. Well is is my progress for the last few nights. I am using a resin engine that was in a box of aftermarket that I got from a friend. I think it is from a company called Fastlane. While digging thru the box I found an all metal rear axel as well.
  5. Well here is what I have been working on the last few days. I normally build armor and aircraft but my introduction to the hobby was by my dad to cars. So I still like to build one every so often to break the monotany. This is the old Johan kit that my dad gave me about 15 years ago. I thaught it was lost til a few months ago when I found it stored with some other things. I wanted to build it differently than just box stock and I am a fan of Pinks All Out and this thing just looks like a prostreeter. I took everyones advice and used a kit I already had built(definately not one of my best) for the chassis and other parts. I have cut out the back seat to accomodate the tub. This will be replace with sheet syrene and a nitrious bottle. I have narrowed the chassis rear end to fit the Rambler and rounded the firewall to fit. I also had to cut out the forward portion of the drive shaft tunnel to fit the Johan interior. Also wanted to let you guys know of a nice set of saws that I found. They are photoetch, very thing, mount to an exacto handle. They are offered by model Car Garage. They are great for fine detail work. Well here are the pics. The blu car is the donor kit
  6. How do you post pics to this forum? Ive got something I want to post.
  7. Bob. Umm interesting idea. Thats the one thing that bothers me about buying a kit just to get the chassis out of it. What ya got to trade? May give me some incentive to buy one.

  9. I posted this in the drag race forum but thaught I would post here too. I am working on a prostock/prostreet drag dio. One the kits is an old Johan '69 SC/Rambler. I want to make it a pro street dragster and need to know how to tub out the rearend, other than buying aftermarket parts, and get the proper sit and size of the rear axle. Can you guys help me out?
  10. Hello all, I am new to this forum. Found it while searching for tips on what I am building right now. I normally build armor and aircraft but on occasion do branch over to autos. My most recent project is a Pinks All Out style drag race dio. I have a prostock Chevelle I am gonna restore for the build and am trying to convert an old Johan SC/Rambler to a prostreet dragster. My biggest hurdle is the rearend. I have never done anything like this and need you guys help on exactly how to tub out the rear end and redo the rear axle. ANY AND ALL HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
