  1. Started building the Dyno Don Eliminator and the body is molded in red. Is it okay to apply decals to the bare body and use a lacquer clear coat? Been building off and on for 40 years and can only come up with a mediocre paint job on 95% of my builds.
  2. The decals that come with the kit are thin and delicate. I laid the decal in the water, it promptly curled up, just like all longer decals. Went to take it out and as I straightened it out, it broke in 4 places. That was the one from the passenger side. That's the only one I've put on so far. Kind of afraid to go any farther, don't want to tear any more of them.
  3. Thank you all for the suggestions. I've used the "brushed Future" approach a few times before and one time it ended up separating like water off a freshly waxed vehicle. Come to think of it, I think I waxed it to see how the paint came out, wasn't happy with it and then applied the Future. Then, I couldn't figure out why it separated like it did. Now I know. I'll save the Testors for a body without window decals.
  4. I'm in the process of painting my Bob Glidden T-Bird and it has decals replicating the metal strips and rivets securing the windows. I usually clearcoat over the decals, but I've never tried it over clear plastic, such as windows. Has anyone had any problems with it?
  5. The decals are easy to tear in the first place. I noticed one had torn before I removed it from the backing paper. I ended up breaking four.
  6. I've tried to Future my Bounty Hunter twice and it keeps beading up on me. I know you can clean brushes with glass cleaner with ammonia, but can I remove the Future with it without hurting my decals?
  7. I picked mine up a couple months ago. Should look good hauling my Tommy Grove funny.
  8. I'll have to check the Zymöl out. All I have now is Meguiar's Gold Class.
  9. "Part three: How to polish floor polish clear coat" ?
  10. Says "undefined". Obviously, it's on Youtube, so I'll do a search. I may be subscribed to him anyway.
  11. I just Futured my Willys and it doesn't quite have the shine I'd like it to have. It did while it was wet, but as it dried, it lost a bit of its shine. Does anyone know if it would be a good idea to throw some Meguiar's at it?
  12. It's the Texaco pickup from AMT. It's definitely not a "reference resto". Just a little something for me.
  13. I have a 1950 Chevy pickup that has the bed floor molded to look like wood. Is there some way to paint it to look realistic?
