I bought this car over the winter , I placed my order the end of Feb, And had it within 3 weeks or less, And the quality is great, Nicely Molded , I was able to special order the flat hood, And both of the valance panels came with the kit also, The only reason I have the two back bumpers was there was a pinhole in it , So I was sent a new one free of charge.70cuda1.jpg70cuda2.jpg70cuda3.jpg

Steve, is that a 25th scale conversion kit? What did it hit you for?

Yes it is, $35 Plus shipping, It's a nice kit, And ALOT cheaper then the kit, $200 For a mint unbuilt? Sorry i'm not rich. I'll go with resin for the 70's MPC Cuda's and Challengers. Another resin kit I would love to see repopped would be the Jo-Han 71,And 72 442 kits, With chrome bumpers, I got outbid on a F/S one , I quit after $175, The kit went for $195, and some change, Thats crazy. So I bought 3 of the USA Oldies 70 442's , And ordered the 71 and 72 parts from The Modelhaus, And I also won the original Jo-Han 70 442, That one has the proper interior, The reissues have the 72 Body, Interior and wheels, The one I have , The body has the round trunk lock on it,As opposed ti having the Rocket emblem, And the interior has a completely different pattern for the door panels,And the seats. But the 71 and 72 shared the same interior,But all of them 70-72 had the same basic body, The 70 Body had the round trunk lock , The 71 had the trim panel that ran between the taillights that said "OLDSMOBILE",And the '72 had the "Rocket" emblem in place of the trunk lock, The differece in the Original '70 wheels is they are thicker the the reissues, They are basically the same as those found in the Jo-Han 69 Road Runner kits, Yes alot of the new Revell 72 H/O And Cutlass parts will work on the Jo-Han kit, but the chassis is about 2 scale inches to long, And to wide, But the Jo-Han front bumpers fit almost perfectly, The back,For instance if you wanted a '70 'vert, You have to adjust it at the top of the bumper to fit, Or if you want the proper "442" bumper to make a true 71 or 72 The front bumpers from the Johan kits fit, And the 71 Taillight insert also fits, That revell kit is basically a W-31 Cutlass Convertible, with Supreme Grills, Those used the same grills as the Cutlass,And Cutlass "S" Only the H/O used these grills, Or the Cutlass Supreme. So I would suggest ,If you want a true "442" Convertible, Pick up the front bumper,And insert along with the 71 Jo-Han taillight insert from The Modelhaus ,And build away, Also the 70 Hood will fit the revell kit,All that needs to be done is adding thin plastic strips on both sides of the hood,And cut off the molded in hinges. Yes this was alittle off topic, But seeing the prices these 442 kits, And Cuda's And Challengers go for now, I have to say to the resin vendors, Bring back more of this stuff, For the price of one of the original kits, We could buy all 4 I mentioned. Also as far as what went on the other day. I still and alway will have a great deal of respect for EVERYONE in the resin industry. So many things are involved it's unreal, Also, Think back to when alot of us started building models, Us vets so to speak, 25-30 Years ago we didn't have the types of stuff that we have know. Be thankfull what we do have, Because it could all change in a heartbeat. If these guys go away . You have two choices, Go buy the original kit, Or wish you would have bought the resin kit while it was still available, Been there done that. Thanks for the comments on the "Reliable Resin" 70 Barracuda. I'll get to it very soon ,We just got 4 inces of snow today. It's that time again here in Old Michigan.

I was able to get both an unbuilt 70 and 71 MPC kits off the bay, and yes, i did pay over 100.00 bucks per kit. Not REAL crazy expensive, but steep enough for MY cheapness!(110 for the 70,125 for the 71) I have an original 70 442 in the cartoon box, and have been told to give it to Jeff or Kev over at DRAG to cast, so the re popped 70 Olds 442 kits an FINALLY get the RIGHT interior! Thanks for the info on the cuda kits. Had I KNOWN about them rascals, things mighta been ALOT cheaper!!!:D:);)
