Hey guy's I'm building a 72 Chevy Malibu funny car and I'm trying to think of a name that could be made into a decal and put on the sides of the body. Something staying with the theme of it being a Malibu funny car. I hope this makes sense? :)

LOL, these are great! I would have never thought of some of them! You guys are gonna laugh but this is not just a funny car but a "funny" funny car. It's the Deal Wheels Malibu funny car. I never really liked those Deals Wheels kits but when I found out they had funny cars with full chassis' and a body that lifts up, I had to have them. So with that being said and this thing being kinda "cartoonish", I was thinking of "Maliboo boo"? LOL, I know.....corny!

Also, It's not being built box stock, I want to put a wild paint job on it and I'm machining some aluminum goodies for it. It will have injection lines and spark plug wires as well. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Deals Wheels, I remember them!they made a Chevy (the Malibu) & a Ford Mustang, had both years ago. Hope you post some pic's, haven't seen either of those cars for a long, long time!

Hey Richard, The Malibu was released twice, the second time it was dubbed a "Funster". That's the version I'm building. Still had to pay 60.00 it, even being a reissue! Looks like the Ferd Phoney car is going to be the hard one to get! I have seen it twice on Ebay not too long ago but it wasn't cheap! I've spent the last day doing all the body work, filling holes, gaps in the chassis, etc. Nothing exciting to take pics of yet. I removed the plastic fuel tank and will be replacing it with one I'll be machining. I plan on machining aluminum belt pulleys and outer rings to make the rear wheels deeper. My biggest obstacle right now is how to paint it. I want it to have a lot of color!

paint it bright orange and call it a "maliboey" ?

or paint a bunch or rubber hammers on it and call it the "mallot-bu"

or "ma-little-bubu'" ?

It's molded in orange and doesn't look very good in that color to me. I'm thinking a bright purple or candy red, maybe candy blue, something like that?

Hebby Chebby, I like it, goes well with the "heavy chevy" moniker. As for the color, if you use the Hebby Chebby set-up I think the purple or blue would go best.

Thanks! I think it goes with this fat little Chevy body! LOL

I was just experimenting with those colors. I was trying to make the letters look like chrome. You can do it on there, I just don't know how yet? You can add designs into each letter as well like fire or bubbles, ect. I just need to find someone that can take my picture, after I make the design I want and turn it into a decal!

Glad to have assisted in the name selection. When looking at your graffiti style type, I knew something was slightly off. It finally dawned on me that the 'M' was too small so I redid it and like this one much better. Really looking forward to your build.

What do you guys think of this?

I found a graffiti creator that lets you make any word look like graffiti. You can choose all kinds of styles and colors.

I think you nailed it with this one...cut,print, and stick on car :P
