Excellent fab and engineering....

Every once in a while, I run across an impressive WIP like yours. The amount of time, skill and attention to detail makes this one of those times, Thanks.

You can't goo wrong with a 49 Merc! Originally built almost ten year ago "Tang" was an experiment in custom techniques, I used ever mod I knew of to make this one. Sadly, it was partially wrecked while moving in 2016. But in 2022 I was able to rebuild it using spare parts. I rebranded it the "Ghost" since it was back from the dead. Not bad for a go too model kit, yours looks very nice. I really like the mods you're making.

Nice model. If you had an asphalt shingle on a board under that car, these pix would be very convincing!

JIM MAKAR'S MERCURY MONTEGO DRIVEN BY MORGAN SHEPHERD
James2 replied to gks1964's topic in WIP: NASCAR
Very interesting subject and your paint/decals look great. -
I like what you have here, I resisted this kit for years just because everyone else was building it. I was recently gifted the Mazmanian version and have been nibling at it some. Watch Don Yost YouTube video for this kit. It is helpful...

Your skillset never ceases to amaze, john. Beautiful model of a beautiful car, and of course perfectly detailed. -
I hear ya, but I think the blower and scoop sticking out of the hood are a giveaway. LoL

Today I added the pedals, brake master cylinder and some wheelie bars. Now I realize I used the brake MC from the Nova, which appears to non-power brakes. That will need addressed! But after the WB went on. Do I add a spoiler and chute? After all it is a Pro Street car... What do you think?

Rodded '32 Chevy delivery
James2 replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Interesting build, I've not seen one of these before... -
Finishing up some pieces and assembly. Body is almost ready to prime and I need to tie up a few loose ends.

"And get this, when done, the tire won't even be up inside the wheelwell." That is actually the way it usually is, but you have a much more realistic chassis. And the experience of doing it. That my friend is what this hobby is all about...
