Born in '95, the following weren't true for me.

2. Revell and Monogram have always been the same company. (When I first started it was Revell Monogram)
7. You could always find nearly any model kit you wanted on eBay. (I never used Ebay until about two years ago, and have hated it since)
11. there have always been internet forums. (they might have existed, but I've only been on them for the last few years)
14. there has always been Bare metal foil and Alclad. (I only ever started hearing about it in the last year or two)
19. they have always gotten same day, (and in some cases real-time) notification of new release announcements. (I only ever found out about new releases when they were on the shelfs until about 3 years ago.

I graduated H.S. in 1995, now these kids are going to college? *sigh* Guess that explains why the music I listened to then is filtering into classic rock...

As part of the Gen X set of modelers here, I had video games growing up on the original Nintendo (Atari before that) and watched the internet be born (and had a Commodore 128 before that), and yet I and a slew of other people ate all still here, still building, and most if us are proudly still playing video games of one sort our another. I don't understand why some people feel the two "pastimes" are mutual exclusive of one another.

I think you're missing the point here, for someone born in '95, they've never seen a kit retail for $5, they've always been at least triple that.

True enough...I was born in '70, and I can't recall when kits last retailed for under $10...maybe 20 years ago or more.

Perhaps a mindset list for guys entering retirement is needed too? It would include things like "Model kits are too darn expensive nowadays" and "Young people don't build models, they're too busy with their touch things" "Real modelers don't use aftermarket parts, they roll their own wires from thread and wax" and multiple variations of "The glory days are long over/The hobby is dying a slow death"!

Wow, I guess that makes me old. I'll venture a guess that at least half my stash were $9.99 or less , with quite a few at $4.99 + $5.99
