Casey
Do any of resin casters offer a 1/16th scale 392 Hemi? Are you looking for a copy of the Aurora enigne or something else? Image from the Drastic Plastic 'site:
AK_Invader
Are you looking for a copy of the Aurora enigne or something else? Not necessarily a complete copy of the Aurora engine - just a picked up a 1/16 Revell dragster kit and would like to 'back-date' it with a 392. If there is a 'converion kit' for the Revell 426 that would work as well. Edited March 19, 2011 by AK_Invader
comp1839
while i'm no expert on what's available in 1/16 scale. there should be NO available kit to convert a 426 to a 392. these 2 engines are as different as night and day. about the only thing they share in common is the word hemi. i have seen some one with a donovan 417 kit available in 1/16. maybe some one can help with the company's name. the donovan would make your back-dated build period correct. Mooneyzs
The Donovan Kit that Comp1839 is talking is made by Competition Resins, the part no is CR-11602. You can purchase direct from Competition Resings or from Slixx Decals. I recently have purched some of Compeition resin's 1/16 scale parts from Slixx and the quality is very nice. I picked up a set of the 392 Hemi Valve covers in 1/16 scale. I will dig them out and take a pic and post for you. I am wanting to pick up one of these 417 Donovan motor kits myself. Also another resin company to check out is Flash Point Motorsports for some 1/16 scale stuff, They have some nice stuff as well.

Greg Myers
Seems like all the dragsters in 1/16th that Revell has done over the years there must be a 392 in there somewhere.

iBorg
Mark is not connected with Comp Resins. Mark has a wide range of products. None of it is a direct recast but Mark is a true craftsman when it comes to his masters. His resin is just as good as his masters. The price I paid for an injected 392 was more than fair, the quality outstanding. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I would love to see what all he has for 1/16th scale stuff. I have been buying quite a bit lately for some of my drag builds. If he doesn't have a website maybe I will just email to see if he has pictures and price list. I am the type that would pay a tad more for a better quality product at well. gridjockey
here is a site for bigger hemi engines i'm not sure if they have what you are looking for or not. http://ecsvr.com/fpm/ShopExd.asp?id=
comp1839
the flashpoint hemi is a brad anderson unit. it is based on the 426 hemi......not a 392.
iBorg
It may not be a 392, but that's a sweet looking BAE Hemi.
Mooneyzs
It may not be a 392, but that's a sweet looking BAE Hemi. It's a nice kit for sure. I picked one up about a week and half ago
GrandpaMcGurk
As Dave mentioned the 392 & 426 Hemi engines are two totally different critters. An easy way to tell the difference at a glance it that the distributor & and oil filter are on the rear of the 392 - they are on the front of the 426. The really old (baby) hemis 331 etc. have the bell-housing cast as part of the block.
Dragracer
I saw a post written above about the Competition Resin's Donovan 417 & people were wondering about it, well I bought one a few years ago thru Slixx & it is a great looking engine, no problems with it that I could see, the only thing you would have to do to convert it to a 392 (besides the valve covers which you already have)is sand/grind down the Donovan 417 logo on the bottom of the block. It is a nice engine, as I said I've had it for a few years now but I haven't put it together yet.

Mooneyzs
I have to give a shout out to Mark and his resin engines. in my personal opinion they are one of the best out there and I would highly recommend his products to any one. you wont go wrong using his products. I am.using one of his 427 Hemi's in my 1/16 funny car build and I am having him cast up a 392 Injected motor for me now for another build.
