Ant Eater 90% Done Updated 21 November 2014

Recommended Posts

Thanks, Guys....You, know, James, I've looked around for some pics of T600's here and there and I really didn't see much wrong with the hood, but I think that's beyond my skill set to do anything with that, anyway.....As for the suspension....Again, just beyond me....I'll have to do with what's in the box.....To be honest, I just want to get close, so I can get to building the trailer I have planned for this thing..... :D But thanks for the input....You guys are great with the encouragement....This time, though, I think I'm gonna stay on the intermediate modeler side of things......I still have one more Ant Eater, though....Maybe next time....

Looking good JT, if you wanted to update the rear suspension a snap kit makes a great donar for the 8 bag air ride. I am with you though - dang if I can see what is wrong with the hood - but then I never really looked at the newer trucks that close other then opening the hood and closing it after needed repairs.

Looking good JT, I like how you addressed the side skirts, That was one problem I had and kept me from stretching the wheel base to something that would allow a trailer. On another note, its always great to see another orange rig coming out of your shop!

He says of course it's orange cause JT does near about all his trucks orange. And they call them ant eaters cause they were the first aerodynamic truck and people thought they looked goofy like an anteater long slender nose. Good lookin truck JT I have one in the box planning a big 110" ICT sleeper and makin it a bed bugger setup. You have the Allied fleet. I'll have to do Bekins or United

Alot of the t600's i see around here don't have that part of the skirt that rounds out in front of the duals...most have been cut off and they don't actually look that bad...i've been wanting to get a t600 even though everyone complains about all the issues with it...my trouble is finding one for cheap enough...anyways lookin good JT...what trailer will this beast be pulling...it would look pretty nice in front of a step deck skateboard... Got a bit more done over the weekend.....I've swapped the suspension with the snap KW's and added Moebius wheels and tires.....This is a minor update, but I figured I'd post it, anyway....

The fuel tank brackets have always puzzled me.....I'm not sure what they want you to do, but I just improvised and did them this way.....I just hope it works.....It looked good after test fitting the tanks to it, but We'll see.....

I thought I had that seam taken care of, but, as you can see, it's still there.....Not sure I'm gonna worry about it, though....It won't be seen with the fairings on, anyway.....
