angelo7
Can this type of setup back to a dock or anywhere? Or is it only forward all the time?
landman
My guess is yes....one trailer at a time.
cappy625
a set up like that is mostly a terminal to terminal run. not much backing up. once at the terminal the unit is separated then back into the dock one at a time by a yard jockey or reconnected to another rig headed to another destination. but once at a truck show/rodeo I did see a driver back up a set of doubles. but never a set of triples. Petetrucker07
If the driver knows what he's doing, yes.it takes awhile, but can be done. I've done it. I've backed doubles into loading docks.
landman
I've seen a guy pull up into a rest area withy a set of doubles only to dicsover it didn't have another entrance. He had to separate, back them unto the highway shoulder, reconnect and move on. He wasn't a happy camper.

Petetrucker07
The way I was taught, if your gonna drive a truck, you better know how to back it up.
gatorincebu
I watched a video on U-tube of a guy backing up a road train down under! Muct be a real pita though! Be Well Gator
Mackvision
I agree with Clayton,a set of doubles CAN be backed up,not the easiest thing in the world to do,but not imposible either. I drove a wrecker when I was younger, and have actually backed a tractor/trailer behind the wrecker into many a shop....................................Mark

Petetrucker07
Here's doubles backing. The last 2 trucks are doubles. The last truck Tim Alhorns did an article about that company in this month's MCM issue.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SyWcgdydDzY Here's a video of what I drive everday, in a working competition. Actually the year of this video I was suppose to be there, in that contest but the truck had engine issues and was in the shop.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o__Jt19Gcms Edited February 13, 2015 by Petetrucker07
