Like a lot of young guys, I used to make model cars. But that "young guy" stage was a few decades ago. So nostalgia has set in, and I think about some real cars I had as a young adult - one especially. Not a rich guy so buying restored car, or restoring the one that's on my mind, is not in the cards.
So I saw the MPC Dodge Dart Sport at Hobby Lobby when my wife and I were out and about. That '75 Dodge Dart is the car that has been on my mind lately. So, I went back and bought it, along with a few hobby tools that I no longer had on hand.
My original '75 was the Claret red color - a kind of light burgundy, but pretty close to a "normal" burgundy color. It also had the black vinyl "halo" half roof cover. I know that at some point I had pictures of that car, but who knows what box/trunk they ended up in, so I'm going by memory and a few pictures I've found on-line and from various Mopar forums.
Been reading the thread here about the MPC kit and a few of the issues it has. That's O.K., I'll just take my time. And maybe find some accommodation for the frame issue where it lines up near the bottom of the front wheel wells.
I'll see you all on the forums, no doubt with questions. This is going to be fun!
