steelerdan43
So I was at the LHS looking for my next build and noticed that there were no pre 50's Chevy street cars there. Of course there were the was the standard Willys coupe, 32 Ford, and Model A's but no Chevys! A nice 37/38 Chevy would be great, or even a nice 40 Sedan or 48 Convertible. Do you guys know of any kits of early Chevys that were released back in the hay day or and resin kits????
Mr. Metallic
There are two pre-50 chevy kits available right now. If your LHS doesn't have them they should be able to track them down pretty easy. Galaxie Ltd 46-48 Chevy Aerosedan and Sedan delivery. Excellents kits, very detailed, with hop up parts for the straight 6 AMT '37 Chevy coupe- I beleive this may be a limited release put out by Steven International. Nice, older tooling kit. I agree there should be more, but the only on I can think of is the '32 Chevy roadster(but I am no kit guru) whcih hasn't been available for a looong time. Modelmartin
Yes the MPC 32 Chevy roadster was a decent kit. Rarer is the 32 panel delivery . Amt also did the 37 as a convert. Don't forget the Monogram 39 Chev Coupe and Sedan Delivery. They came as street rods but can made stock with either AMT 37 or galaxie 47 parts. All but the 32 Panel are relatively easy to find on E-bay or at swap meets.
455 Rocket
I have this diecast for trade. It's 1/25 scale by First Gear. It's got a small block Chevy with 3 dueces and a Ford 9".
Tony
I posted these 32s some time ago and need to do a up date soon. The first one is a 32 Chevy Cabriolet and the other is kit bashing of the 32 Chevy with the Vampire Van. The Vampare Van was the 33 Panel van before MPC change it into the Vampire Van. I do find the 32 Cabriolet on sell on E-bay all the Time. They both have dual leaf springs front and rear and this where I am working the hardest to get them to sit just right. The van is easy, but the Cabriolet is giving me trouble with slamming it to the ground.
Steven Zimmerman
RMR casts a 39 Chevy based on the R/M '39 kit, with a chopped top, laid back windshield, pie cut hood, mini cooper headlights, modified grille, willys rear window, all body panels have been modified, and it comes with a modified AMT wagonrod frame. Greg has a picture of a completed one in his NNL east pics. A resin street rod body to fit the AMT 37 Chevy will also be available this fall, with numerous body, hood, and grille modifications......Steven Zimmerman aka the'Z'man........
