Rebal442
I haven't been able to post for a while because ive been off at college. I stumbled upon this truck at a yard sale and the lady did not find any value in it, so I ended up taking it home for free. from what it looks like, its an old kit, but there is parts missing. it looks like the builder had hacked it all up to make it look like a pulling truck (which I think is a great concept), but they did not seem to care about the truck as they slapped it all together. anyways, I would like inputs as to what I should do with the kit. ideas, thoughts, and comments are all welcome as I am totally lost as to where I should go with this build or if it is even salvageable. also, I am not familiar with the whole "plastic fabrication" so I do not know what to do if I decide to get rid of the hood stacks. PLEASE HELP with your input!!!! Thanks
mackinac359
It looks like a very old California Hauler Peterbilt 359 with wheels from an IMC/Testors Dodge L700! You have a great candidate to restore.. the hood exhaust is odd.. plenty of potential here. I'd eliminate the exhaust - reroute it back to the side of the cab. The spoke wheels would be commonly seen on trucks east of the Mississippi back in the late 60s and the 70sso you could keep those. Superpeterbilt
Looks like the exhaust would blow right into the air intake! Being that its a Detroit, it probably wouldnt phase it. I agree with Tim. I would restore it. I probably have an extra hood with no exhaust holes in it. Just PM me if you want it. I have extra instructions also if that would help inventory whats missing. disabled modeler
Restore it... I love the spoke wheels always have they give a truck a workhorse look.
Truck parts
restore it
Chariots of Fire
I'd restore it too. That would never pass an inspection test with the driver's view so obscured by that air cleaner. Put it back on the side where it belongs. Looks like the tires and wheels need some work to make them straight and plumb.
