Right after I read Daves how-to

I grabbed a model that has had some seams smoothed out and followed what he said to do.

Tamiya Light Green TS-22 and Tamiya Clear.

I think it turned out alright

Thanks alot Dave..

This should be a Post Marked How-to..

Sorry to hear about you guys in AZ & CA.

Dave, I saw some action on this, and I re-read it, and have a couple of questions for you.

1. Dupli-Color High-Build Primer is the filler primer, I'm guessing? I've never used it, as I always thought it would fill in panel lines, drip-rails, and such, as well as completely bury scripts and other little bits. As you don't put a lot of trim on your cars, that might not be as big a deal for you, but on anything you've built with details like that, have you found it to be a problem with that primer?

2. You don't sand your paint jobs? To make sure I understand, the final finish comes from a combination of sanding cloths and various polishing/rubbing compounds?

Very excellent and informative article. I'm a woodworker in real life and just recently got into spraying lacquers and I can see some similarities in your methods. I've had first hand experience with windows to work within and it is critical. Keep up the good work. For me, I get better each time I spray. It can be intimidating at first. But mistakes are the best teacher.

Dave,

I read with great interest, your incredibly informative post on painting. And then, I saw your examples. WOW. I am so impressed. I am getting together a list of supplies, and then I'll dive in. I truly wish that other experinced modelers would take the time that you have, to address other areas of model-building tips/skills. I have been building off and on for years, and I'm getting better in some areas, and still struggling in others.

Thank you for sharing, I am truly impressed and motivated!
