fseva
I decided to check out MCW's selection of resin kits, and found what looks to be a rather rare Studebaker Lark! Now, chances are not good that anyone has built this specific model, but anyone who has built MCW, please give me your opinions... Thanks! High octane
I have a few of the MCW resin kits, however I have not built any of them as yet. They do look good though, and if they have a specific car that you like, it might be "the only game in town."

1930fordpickup
The Studebaker Lark can be found in model form on EBAY often. Well as long as you are not looking for them they are on there.
mike 51
It's a copy of the Johan promo from 1960...uses the interior n chassis from their 62. Somewhat oversized imo.
jas1957
I have built the MCW Studebaker Lark. It is based on the old Jo Han promo. It is a bit larger than 1/25 scale, maybe 1/22 or so. I opened the hood & made a full detail model out of it. Modified a '41 Plymouth flat six the replicate the Stude flat six.

dimaxion
This is the '60 MCW Lark HT . I modified it to represent a '61 MY . It took some hard digging to find this color combination . It is a Tribute Build of the 1:1 I worked on way back in time . Modelhaus has the parts to do the MY Change . It does come as a '60 MY Lark . Very little work was needed to finish this replica . Not difficult resins to work with .. Thanx ..

Deano
What's a MY Lark? Is it related to a Skylark? I read it as '61 Model Year.
mike 51
I read it as '61 Model Year. of course that's what he meant....clear to all except the terminally obtuse.
fseva
I read it as '61 Model Year. Well, that could be... but why even bother... who wouldn't know its a 61 "model year"... what else is there?

jas1957
And what did you think of the Lark kit? Was it a good, clean resin copy? Like all MCW resin kits it is very nice clean casting that will build a good looking model.
fseva
Like all MCW resin kits it is very nice clean casting that will build a good looking model. I take it you've had a LOT of experience with MCW resin kits?
om617
You dont need lot`s of experience, what you need is patience. If you dont have it forget about resin.
jdcar32
I am currently building the MCW 1958 Pontiac Chieftain sedan. The main components are good castings and delivery was quick. But the detail parts such as steering wheel, pedal assembly, and bumpers are total junk. And no chrome parts in this kit. Lucky for me Promolite had '58 Poncho chrome stuff, Tom might have some Studie stuff. Depending on your skills and desire, just about any kit can be made presentable. That Studebaker will be worth it !!
jas1957
I take it you've had a LOT of experience with MCW resin kits? I have built a couple of his kits, he does not chrome the bumpers & grills. You will have to use Al Clad or send them out to one of the chrome plating companies. It is not perfect but if you want a Lark it is the only game in town. As any kit plastic or resin with a little time & effort a nice model can be built.
rickcaps55
I have a good 85% of his kits they are good kits and are easy to work with. He does not chrome his parts you can send them out I have done that with some and the other's I go to modelhause and use there chrome and glass I have 2 of the Larks they are a repop of the old Johan kit but all in all Dave is a great guy to deal with and I like his kit's.
