Agent G
Ok boys and girls, I want to swap out the generic POS chassis under my Sheriff Roscoe Dodge, but I cannot remember which Mopar chassis folks use. I recall mention of a Road Runner, I believe a '71, but for the life of me cannot recall the details. Born and raised in St Louis, I now suffer fron Anheuser's disease. It is brought on by Clydedales. G
Danno
G, One commonly mentioned chassis (as I recall, but don't know because I haven't done it yet) is the AMT '68 Pymouth Belvedere. Another is the AMT '71 Dodge Charger. I haven't tried that one, either ... because I've used all my '71 Charger chassis on older JoHan kits (sixties Mopars). Either way ~ ~ ~ or even using the Roscoe kit chassis (did I really just say that?) ~ ~ ~ whatever you do ... lose the kit wheels!!!!!! Build-off, my award-winning friend??? Agent G
Thank You sir! Yes, the wheels will be doomed to spend eternity in the parts box. I believe a build-off is in order. It will be most enjoyable. You might even finish this one................................... G

April 20, 2013 ... my town ... El Rancho Casa Baker ... be there or be square, Hombre!

1972coronet
Agent G - The AMT 1971 Charger chassis would be right for a 1971 & later Coronet / Charger / Road Runner / Satellite (and 1970 - 1974 Barracuda / Challenger as well ) , as the Roscoe's Ramp Jumper (or whatever it's called) is a B-Body Monaco . The wheelbase is a *bit* different ; just adjust the rear axle to re-centre it to its proper spot . Also , if the Charger's 8.75" diff "bothers" you (1974 was the last year for the 8.75" rear) , then perhaps either a Dana 44 (close enough) or Chrysler 9.25" (resin-cast I believe ...) is in order . I have always despised the "Country-Wide" wheels and tyres in the MPC (et al.) Monaco "A38" kits !!!
Agent G
Thanks John, I don't think the "incorrect" rear end will bother me in the least. I'll just make sure the axle is centered. G
