Jay Strikes Again With A Gorgeous Truck

Recommended Posts

Ah... Leno is still one of the best. And the '67 through '72 generation of Chevrolet trucks is still my favorite. And I love the way Holly modified this truck. It has all the right modern goodies, yet still looks like the proper '67 Chevy I always loved the looks of. I especially like how stock looking they kept the interior. And I love the plain simple white grille. The factory mirrors, both inside and out. The color. The clean simple graphics on the door. Chrome bumpers. And no step bumper in back. I would have preferred body color wheels with dog dishes. I love the modern engine. The set up of the bed. And the Vintage Air set up. All around a very, very nice truck. I'd love a '67 Suburban with stock buckets, built basically the same way.

Gotta love Jay and Jay Leno's Garage!

I only saw my very first episode just a couple of weeks ago. (I know, where have I been, right?) But now that I've seen about 15-20 episodes, I can say that JLG is a very well-done program. Jay knows his stuff, but he never overdoes the gearhead act. He tells the viewers enough technical stuff without going totally into gearhead land... I think he strikes just the right balance. And of course, he seems like the nicest, most down-to-earth guy you could ever meet, not one of those affected, self-important, egotistical tattooed jerks like on so many other "reality" car shows.

Great show, great host, cool cars. B)

He really is, I spotted him at the old Kruse swap meet at the labor day weekend in Auburn about 25 years ago. Since it was early and I normally do not bother celebrities when I spot them in public I left him alone. Instead he came up to me and started a cordial conversation with me for about ten minutes.

Sounds just like Jay. B)

Harry you hit the nail right on the head why I like Jay and Jay Leno's Garage. A great guy. And great stuff. A great show. And not pretentious in any way.

That's what I like about Jay. He's a huge star, but he acts like a normal guy. And I think it's not an act... he's just a real honest-to-goodness nice guy–without the ego that many celebs have.

To be honest I never really liked Jay Leno as a standup and I never really liked him on the Tonight Show. But he's great on Jay Leno's Garage. This is his passion and his calling, and it looks like he has a fun time doing it.

X2! Always liked Jay when Dennis Gage had him on 'My Classic Car'...
