  1. Agree on the Tamiya body shape. Too bad it didn't include a moon roof like the AMT/Aoshima/Fujimi, as no moon roof was rare in the US. If they could include a clear hood, they could have included a clear moon roof part and scribe lines on the inside of the roof, like the other kits. Another thing the Tamiya kit lacks: separate buckets for the headlights and integrated fog lights. The original release does have wood decals. Aoshima made a '93/'94 version with the updated wheels, but it doesn't incorporate the slight mods Toyota made to the side skirts and bumpers. Hard to describe but they were fuller looking and the rockers were painted to match. Also, the Aoshima wheels weren't shaped correctly, to my eye.
  2. I think Tamiya had the most accurate body shape of the various companies that kitted the Celsior/Lexus LS400, yet they omitted the sunroof, which other companies included. Tamiya is also re-releasing the LS400. Both new releases include an updated decal sheet (the only changes being reshaped bumper chrome strips and a new CHMSL) and new window masks. I think the LS400 also includes silver metal transfers in place of the original gold emblems.
  3. They were great at addressing Revell kit issues, like new wheels, tires, etc. Glad to see them restarting. It was weird, because all of a sudden the proprietor stopped responding to people on FB years back and would simply sell what remained from the website.
  4. Great job! I like that you did the two-tone exterior, and such a clean build! I really enjoyed building these back in the day, despite their issues as you pointed out. I used the Lion Roar photo etch set, which had a photo etch grill more in scale. I actually have two more to build with the pano roof (I already vacuum formed it).
  5. Update @Exotics_Builder@Zoom Zoom@Mike Chernecki: happy to report that ZoomOn Models created an accurate NSX wing. It's part of an NSX Type S transkit, but they were able to sell me the wing only, since I don't care for the Type S body kit. I've test-fitted it, and all is good. ZoomOn has other cool stuff, like a T5-R transkit for the Tamiya Volvo 850 Turbo wagon. I have that too and it's pretty comprehensive; the only thing missing is T5-R-specific seats, but that's not a big deal.
  6. Beautiful build! God forbid I criticize a stupendous effort by Tamiya, but they could've made more of an effort with the fuel injection system, and an obvious mistake - they forgot the radio. There's speakers on the door sills, but no radio hanging from the center of the dash like on the real car.
  7. I don’t think Revell has ever gotten past a water-slide decal sheet in their kits. What’s been unfortunate over the past few years is a lack of aftermarket for Revell Germany kits. In the past you could rely on A+ Club or Plamoz to create new wheels/tires or metal transfers for the emblems but both are defunct. I haven’t seen an aftermarket detail kit yet for the E-Type.
  8. Great job! I haven't heard one modeler say good things about the metal transfers in this kit. And I agree with you on the F/R window trim. I managed to scribe, but a real pain to get right, and the last thing I did on my WIP.
  9. This is cool and something totally different. If only its followed up by his original, the McLaren F1 since the Fujimi is rather terrible.
  10. Kinda feels like a full year's announcement (err leak) has already been made. They don't usually do too many new car kits each year and already we've heard about a DB5 and C8 that will be released later in the year. So, it seems we got more than just Q1 2023.
  11. Nice start! Thanks for pointing out the sinkholes. Really wish the model companies would offer the glass roofs like the real cars.
  12. Wow! Great job. Really nice clean build and photography too!
  13. I think they are planning a spider kit. One of the AM guys posted a prototype on their FB page.
