phil-east
I built this using the Tamiya kit, It basically fell together and is one of the best fitting kits i have built to date. I painted the body with Tamiya Light Metallic blue (TS-54). I built it pretty much box stock with the paint job and chrome being the only differences. I love the chrome look with the metallic blue so I muscle car'd it up a bit and am very happy with the result. Many thanks for looking, Any and all feedback is welcome positive or negative. Phil. Finally got a bit of sunshine so i got some outdoors pics. Edited September 27, 2014 by phil-east
jrherald420
Nice looking car! I built the Gunze Sangyo version of this and it was really fun to build. I wish it came with those rims!!
phil-east
thanks man, i love the rims, but they were a bit awkward as the kit has no chromed parts so i ended up using BMF on them due to a lack of adequate chrome like paint. jrherald420
For those to be all BMF they look outstanding! I never would have guessed.

Beautiful work on one of my favorite old Porsches, Phil. I hope you get a chance to shoot some outdoor pics - I'd love to see that paint in the sunlight. ZTony8
You saved yourself much work by not puttying the joint on the rear spoiler.I puttied mine and sanding and painting the inside of the spoiler was a character builder!
phil-east
when i started planning the kit out i had a good debate with myself about the spoiler, I didn't use the putty for exactly that reason. This was a bit of a slump buster for me so i didn't want to complicate things.
tmathew1us
I built this using the Tamiya kit, It basically fell together and is one of the best fitting kits i have built to date. I painted the body with Tamiya Light Metallic blue (TS-54). I built it pretty much box stock with the paint job and chrome being the only differences. I have built this kit, and I agree - one of the finest-engineered and best-fitting kits I have ever done. I am surprised how reasonably priced this kit is at many online retailers. This is a great slump-buster kits. Can't wait to see the kit sparkle in the outdoors.
phil-east
i put some outdoors pics in the second post, they are far from perfect but they do show the paint and wheels a bit better.
Bill Eh?
Excellent build-up of the 959. Outdoor shots really show the quality of build and paint. Congratulations.
phil-east
thanks Bill, i'm quite proud of this one, the pics still don't really do it justice for some reason, it seems to sparkle on the display shelf.
