I have found a few others on the net of Scooters with a door on the glovebox, but I'm having problems with colours. It seems that the dashboards on the Scooters were all black, to save cost, and the brochure I downloaded backs that up. However, I have pics of one scooter (it's beigy cream; you can see it by simply googling "Chevette Scooter") and the dash looks like the "camel" colour. Can anyone confirm this? I imagine that wmobie is the only one who's ever going to put the '73 SD T/A and the Ford Fiesta in the same sentence as "ones that got away"... However, his point's well made. A car that does you well is a good car, regardless of size, shape or style. Love the foot-pumped washer fluid, too; good reason to use Rain-X, I guess! Found several others all the dashes had the top black and from the mid point down the color of the interior, again don't know the year. I've seen the two-tone dash in some cars too, but the brochure doesn't mention this at all, and it could be a later-than-'79 thing. It is suggested by the brochure I have that scooters could only have the camel or black interior, and that colour-keyed instrument panels were only available in non-Scooters. Of course, it also says that the console wasn't standard either, but I believe I've seen a Scooter with it. I wish this was easier, but I think I'll just go with POS black and pretend like all the features are Scooter-like. There's no rear speaker, either, on the kit; this is a marker of the Scooter. It shouldn't be this hard to figure out the fit on a 34 year old, well documented and highly-produced car. Yet, here I sit... still in the dark. I feel like an automotive Indiana Jones... Nope- everything that isn't painted is black, some of it looks bluish because it's been fried by UV rays and such. Oh, and the stuff on the floor? You could say it's like trail mix, for rodents- mice, squirrels and the like just love making nests in abandoned cars. There was even a nest in the air cleaner housing. I'm sure it will solve a lot of problems I run into while building it, too! You're a lifesaver! That emissions flag thing is exactly why I consider cars like this losermobiles. They're just there to be transport pods; they're almost engineered to be utilitarian and un-fun. Good thing some people have some passion and imagination and could get more out of them! I'm going to be primering tonight, but that'll have to dry for a bit. I still have to mix up the paint, too. Don't worry, though, I'm working on it! It normally takes me a couple months to totally finish a car the way I want it. Oh yeah, I had to sand the windows, too, so they're opaque at the moment... It was a black interior with body color steel in most places it wasn't cardboard and plastic. It did have silver painted bumpers, as well as an AM radio and no globe box door. I found a set of for lug Cragars I put on it to be funny. It was a great car...and gas station stops were to check the gas and fill the oil. It leaked oil from everywhere something fierce. The no door glove box almost got me in trouble. I had a bag of plaster of Paris for an ecology assignment and was pulled over for a cracked windscreen. He saw that bag and almost had a cow. Ohio staties have been very good with me and once he found out we had a good laugh about it. I was one scared seventeen year old though! I sat on a jury for a trial of a young girl who was busted for an open bag of ahem, white powder, on the console of the car. The cop saw it as he spoke to her, so he didn't need a search warrant, it was in plain sight. Her defense in court was that it was a rental car. I love the cardboard door panels. They remind me of an 1981 Civic I drove once. So ghetto...
