  1. Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. And yes, Mr Skelton will be captaining this rod ?
  2. Excellent! Just what I was looking for in order to finish up a current build. Great tutorial! Thanks
  3. Sweet, I would love to find that Splash as this is my 1:1 daily driver for work
  4. I've always liked this kit and it's a nice break for the extremely detailed kits I've been building lately. Not a very nice kit... tons of flash, bad fitment of parts, etc. But it will be fun! Test body for the green I'm going to use...
  5. Nice looking vette, I'll keeping an eye on the build. Do I spy a burgandy step side ranger in the background?
  6. I've had this 2 car set sitting for about 2 years and decided to start it finally
  7. Thanks Tony. I seem to gravitate toward things that go fast. I am planning to broaden my collection in the near future. I agree with Ben, I'm not very patient during down time and have messed up finishes before by trying to build before they've had time to fully cure.
  8. Excellent question and one I don't have a great answer for lol. It was actually for ease of assembly as this was my first shot at any scratch building. I am going to pick up some new material and build more.
  9. I hope this is in the proper forum. After seeing the Doc's engine stand challenge , I decided to give it a shot. Balsa wood, nails, glue and paint. Super simple yet functional. I will update the post when finished. Any comments are welcome.
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I've been spending a ton of time here, enjoying all of the builds and really digging some of the stellar diorama work. I may have to tackle one of those some day.
  11. That's another great point...I've gotten something in the paint or wanted to change things after looking at one sitting off to the side for a while.
  12. I love to paint the bodies and allow them to fully dry, in the meantime I do all the other parts of the build. ADHD? Just a us lol Enjoy ?
  13. Howdy all. I've been lurking for a omg time and figured it's high time I say hello. In my early 40s and have been building off & on since the 80s. I've recently got the bug again and have multiple projects going on. I mostly build hot rods or race car. I really like saving glue bomb, too. I have been motivated to start some other projects, such as a dioramaq, after spending a bunch of time looking around on this forum. You guys have a great community here and that's refreshing as I belong to several vintage BMX forums and those people can tend to take things too seriously. We have these hobbies to have fun and I think people lose sight of that from time to time. Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble and keep on building! Here's the 82ish Petty Grand Prix I've been fiddling with. Any comments are appreciated.
