jeffs396
Always kinda liked these years ago when they came out, but thought they could be improved upon somewhat. Some details GM missed the boat on I think...side view mirrors within the 'vent window' area? The 1:1 for those young ins that may have never seen one:

jeffs396
Is it just me, or is it more difficult to build a thread since the forum redo? You lock the thread, you can't modify your post... Anyway, here's what I've got going so far:

george 53
Those didn't actually have FUNCTIONING vent windows. They DIDN'T move. The main door glass went up and down, but that's all. The mirror was mounted to the door AND foreward window mount.

I realize that George, what I'm saying is that the mirror appears to be 'floating' in the area between the A-pillar and the door window, disrupting otherwise smooth lines... Guest
Looks a lot better without the non functioning wing glass Jeff! I never had noticed how the mirror mounted on the real car. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
Ford guy
Just by getting rid of those dumb non-functioning vent windows, 80's looking wheels, and the missed placed mirrors makes it look 10 times better! If you can make it look that much better that quick, I can't wait to see more.
Jeremy Jon
I remember those cars, pretty rare to see one now Looks cool Jeff, looking forward to seeing more!

Mike Kucaba
Regarding rear view mirrors, I'm surprised these haven't been replaced by cameras yet.
Kennyboy
Looks cool without the dumb mirror window thing Jeff! Would also look great as a convertible.....especially with the wheels you went with. Kind of Lotus Elan-ish.
Hickeydesign
Their is one around the corner from me that has been sitting there for sale for almost a year. If you need refrence photos let me know, I'm sure they wouldn't care based on the amount of dirt on the thing.
ChrisBcritter
Save those stock rims - dechrome them, add some lug nuts and a hub cover, and they'll look like '30s Ford truck wheels.
