I just wanted to say that this store is very fair with prices, I have been going here since I was 12. I have been treated with exceptional customer support. I will be buying 2 MPC 79 MC class action's in a few weeks. Has anyone ever shopped here? Highly reccommended. :)

Really good fair prices, they are not out of their mind like Hobbytown USA lol jk lol ;)

Before I moved south 8 years ago, this was one of my "go to" places. Can't remember walking out of there without SOMETHING, ever!

It really is a throwback to the old days of the LHS, I wish there was more places like this. The fact they have such a large selection and friendly people working there has a lot to do with why they are still in business.

I'll second that. Alex and the rest of the family are great people. They're prices are actually $3-$5 cheaper than most places. It's where I've been buying most of my kits over the last 20 years or so. They also have an online catalog, a yearly paper catalog, sell on Ebay and Amazon too.

Cool :) yea I've been to news and hobby as well :). Good store a lil pricier than model empire, but still good. Yea I can walk to model empire from my home lol ;)

It is my FAVORITE hobby shop with Greenfield News & Hobby runnin' second. I don't get up there often though as the high price of gas is too much and it's about 50 miles one way for me.

I used to live a few blocks south of the store myself, but now I'm only a few miles away. Still get there at least a few times a month...GN&H too(within 2 miles).

Yea i have been thinking about it for the last few months since I got in the hobby, I received a flier from Model Empire. I seriously think i am going too. I think it will enjoy myself there, talking to many local hobbyists. Can I bring my 6 yr daughter? I have her with me 24/7 so just asking lol.

I'm from Detroit. I go to the EAA Convention every year in Oshkosh. I make it a point to stop both at Model Empire and Greenfield Hobbies.

I do think that Model Empire's prices are a bit better but I enjoy spending time in each one.

Karl if you go to the Detroit AutoRama you will see Model Empire there . They are great guys.

A question for any of you close enough to stop in Model Empire, what has happened to their catalog? Got a notice in the mail early in the year that the catalog would be late, around June of this year. Here it is almost Oct and no catalog. Hope I didn't get left off the list after all I've spent with them. Thank you.

I think it is sold out (per the website if I'm not mistaken). I may be going there this Friday, I can check and get back to you this weekend. Or, you can just call them.
