tetra M
painted pads and put mounting bolts the spring has some tension.. so no glue needed i made valves by the side.. they don't look like real ones but i'll just let it be that way (took too much time on calipers) caliper is completed.. hand brake caliper is done as well. those pins at the bottom are for rear caliper.. and i cut out part that holds upper wishbone because.. looks no good.. so i made the joint with metal pipes and pins

Cato
Very cool using pop rivets for brake bleeders. Not too out of scale. Excellent work.

lanesteele240
No wait. That is a pic of a real engine that you photo shopped onto your bench. Just kidding ........ It appears we may need to get advice from you. This looks great so far and i have yet to see one of these built up in detail on the forum Edited March 2, 2014 by lanesteele240
Kennyboy
Just awesome work so far on this!! Treat every part of the build like it is the only part you will stare at when done. .....those calipers are amazing!

TokyoDrift99
That engine almost looks real. You went through so much trouble to make your injectors look real, that it probably took longer to do than I spend on a whole engine. Amazing work. tetra M
thanks guys for your kind comments and sorry for the late update. been busy dealing with life it's been a while but not much progress so far.. because figuring out the solution for the door problem took me so long.. here's the 1/12 enzo's most disappointing problem... it is tamiya's engineering problem.. the upper part of the door is too thin to make the right shape i tried kind of everything i could.. reassembling.. regluing.. this thing had to be done so i can move to the monocoque.. it was pain in the ass! but i've figured it out.. holding doors with metal rod, i could finally make it look normal.. i was too happy and tired to take photos of the work... i took doors and panels away now to work on the monocoque.. i'll explain it later with detailed photos.. Chris, Joseph.. i took some pictures for you.. these are metal pipes and pin for wishbone joint i made.. modelup is the hobby shop in korea they have lots of useful stuff... you'd better check it out - www.modelup.co.kr this is the front wishbone and i had to bore up the hole a little.. but it's not a big deal i hope you guys are satisfied.. cmfowler
Thanks Chris, I am going to save this one in a folder for future reference, can't wait to see how you fixed the door issue.
jaydar
Thank you for sharing that tip. I suggest neodyium magnets for the door fix. Joe.
tetra M
Thank you for your suggestion joe. That's exactly what I did. I put some magnets at the bottom part of the door. But the top is too thin to put them on so I fixed the top with metal rod... looking for the place to put magnets is a little bit tricky. I'll explain how I did it with pictures later
tetra M
just small update. the biggest part of the kit, filling up some seam lines and some modification.. i am thinking of full-carbon monocoque but i'm not sure i'm capable of it holder from hobbydesign's p/e set - 7 pieces of part on each holder there's strange hole on each side for door fix but i filled it up with magnet and covered with glue that small magnet does not have enough force for holding door so i will add bigger magnets later after priming, i found some flaws and marked 'em for correction it is time consuming and boring work but i think those small works make the model with better quality later.. brake booster.. cut the part out for painting painted with gold+silver and put metal pipe added t2m metal parts and pins for cables. tetra M
battery was painted and decalled i made battery holder i added some details with metal pins for cable connection abs unit. brake lines were replaced with 0.6mm flexible wires i put some rivets and made electric cable with small shrink tube and 0.3mm plastic rods.. that's all for today.. thank you for looking Edited March 26, 2014 by tetra M
