  1. Holy smokes that is a terrific build! It could easily pass for the real thing, simply amazing!
  2. Count me in as a fan of those wheels as well. I don't always like big wheels on vintage cars but this looks great. Another great build for your collection.
  3. This was my first time trying that method, and agree it is a bit tricky. I did have better luck than I thought I would. Hardest part was trying to keep it from twisting around while applying.
  4. That is a beautifully clean and detailed build. Stellar paint too. I love those longnose Mustangs, thanks for sharing!
  5. Many thanks again guys! I was really fretting doing that side trim. I cut those strips, with a straightedge, right from the sheet then applied them to the body. No way was I going to try free-handing it all the way down the body with a knife. I did unintentionally cut them slightly wider than the molded in trim but I'm good with it. The vertical part up front is a separate piece which I applied like normal.
  6. Very nice! Gives me some inspiration to start mine sooner rather than later.
  7. Thanks a bunch guys, glad you all like my take on this kit. I was really trying to give it a period correct vibe and think I pulled it off respectably.
  8. Awesome Super Cab, Chuck! I have fond memories of riding around in the back seat of one of these when I was a kid. (Think ours was a 75)
  9. I rolled this one off the assembly line last night. I'm calling it a match racer as I didn't build it to any certain class rules. This was a really fun, albeit simple, build. A good chunk of it is out of the box parts. My parts boxes did cough up the wheels, tires, and decals. In adjusting the stance I raised the front a touch more than I had planned, but I think it still looks good. It would be an easy re-do if I'd ever change my mind on it. Paint is Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red, definitely more red than the slightly orangish hue the pics show. The interior is shot in the same red, but over a base of TS-33 Dull Red so it would be slightly darker than the exterior. Since looking at the pictures, I think I may try to clean up the little paint slop in the headlight buckets, hadn't noticed that. Thanks for lookin' and any comments or questions.
  10. Absolutely beautiful build, Daniel! That is a jaw-dropper!
  11. Thanks guys! Really happy I had a set of those slicks on hand.
  12. That sure does look the part, you really nailed it. Killer build!
  13. Saw this '79 F150 out behind a local Ford dealership today. And, while way back in September, this van who's owner has a good sense of humor.
  14. I managed to drag this one across the finish line last night. Overall pretty happy with it even though it was an uphill battle at times. Even with a coat of decal bonder, a few of the decals (Slixx) split up in a couple areas and required patching them up the best I could and some paint touch-up. Speaking of paint, the blue is Tamiya TS-15. I threw on a set of Competition Resins slicks and lowered the rear axle for a more accurate stance. Engine wise I just opened up the header ends and wired up a VCG Resins magneto. The bug catcher and valve covers are sprayed with Revell's Chrome, pretty happy with the outcome. Not my best work but still like it nonetheless and glad to add it to the collection. Thanks for looking and any comments/questions.
  15. Oh man do I like this build! Stance is excellent and looks like she's ready to rip down the track. Gassers are so cool, and yes, please build more in the future.
